"once in a lifetime" just means absurd abilities that you don't see very often. just because you may see one in repeat years doesn't mean they're still not ridiculously talented.

Yeah, but if you see those sorts of abilities (or commensurate abilities) 40-50 times in your lifetime, then it's really not "once in a lifetime." I mean, in my lifetime I've seen: Gale Sayers, OJ Simpson, Earl Campbell, Tony Dorsett, Emmitt Smith, Marshall Faulk, Eric Dickerson, LaDanian Tomlinson, Thurman Thomas, Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, etc., etc. And every year there's a McFadden, Adrian Peterson, Reggie Bush, Ricky Williams, etc., who's a once in a lifetime back.

The phrase is flawed or used too liberally.

Have you seen that commercial where some people are at a boring work conference and they make up bingo cards with buzzwords. And then when the speaker says one of the words, the person marks it off until they get a Bingo.

We should do that with Draft Catchphrases while watching the draft programs this year.
