those are not the first texans the cheifs were the texans back in the 50s. if you have madden look back at the classic teams for the cheifs

Some reason I don't even remember the WFL... my first recollection of summer NFL was the USFL. Interesting story though.

Actually the AFL Texans that became the Chiefs are not the first Texans. The NFL Dallas Texans played in 1953 but were so bad that they played most of their home games in Pennsylvania before folding at the end of the season.

Players from that team resurfaced in Baltimore the next season to become the Colts.

FIRST the NFL Dallas Texans....folded

THEN the AFL Texans owned by Lamar Hunt...moved

THEN the WFL Houston Texans....moved, folded

THEN the Arena League Dallas Texans....folded

THEN the CFL San Antonio Texans....folded

FINALLY the NFL Houston Texans....future NFL Champions!
