At the beginning of this season, there was the nagging debate about who was the "legitmate #2 receiver". Funny how an injury to the #1 receiver answers that question.
But when AJ went down, and Jones after that, we found out that we still had good receivers, like Andre Davis. He's definately a keeper. But the most pleasant surprise is Kevin Walter. When Kubiak made Walter the #2 at the beginning of the season, it's like everyone went . . "Kevin Walter?? He's not fast enough, he's not a home run threat, he's not flashy enough." But Kevin Walter has shown that he can run precise routes, gets open, and catches everything that's thrown to him. Everything! He's got super glue hands! They were talking about how Denver was missing Brandon Stokely last night. Well, call me a homer, But I think Kevin Walter can run circles around Brandon Stokely. With Johnson, Davis, Walter, and the upcoming Jacoby Jones, we are set a wide receiver. We don't need to draft one. We don't need to sign a FA. |

Kevin Walter is like the Shane Battier of the Texans. He's not going to blow you away with his measurables or big play ability like Andre Johnson, but he is a blue collar player who works really hard and makes plays when it's necessary. Every team needs a guy like him.
