Pro Bowl voting comes to an end
6:20 PM Tue, Dec 11, 2007 | Permalink Albert Breer E-mail News tips Fan voting for the Pro Bowl's now over, and all of you can take a bow -- the Cowboys absolutely dominated the NFC end of things. Dallas players won balloting at nine of 19 positions, and 20 starters (Kyle Kosier and Jacques Reeves/Anthony Henry being the exceptions) appeared in the Top 5 at their spots. The team is represented in the top five at all 19 positions. Heck, Tyson Thompson -- who hasn't dressed for a game since Oct. 21 -- is the fourth-leading vote getter among kick returners. Tony Romo (4th), Terrell Owens (7th), Jason Witten (11th) and Marion Barber (12th) were among the dozen who garnered the most love league-wide. This vote will account for one-third of the final tally. Another third belongs to players, and the final third goes to the coaches. Both those groups will vote on Thursday and Friday, with results coming out next week. So here's the leaders at each NFC position, along with any additional Cowboys in the Top 5 in their categories: QUARTERBACK 1. Brett Favre, Packers: 1,140,863 2. Tony Romo, Cowboys: 830,789 RUNNING BACK 1. Adrian Peterson, Vikings: 753,294 2. Marion Barber, Cowboys: 503,786 FULLBACK 1. Tony Richardson, Vikings: 204,168 2. Oliver Hoyte, Cowboys: 164,031 WIDE RECEIVER 1. Terrell Owens, Cowboys: 700,779 TIGHT END 1. Jason Witten, Cowboys: 596,867 OFFENSIVE TACKLE 1. Flozell Adams, Cowboys: 370,073 2. This might be an indication of who's going from the AFC.
A whole bunch of Patriots. |

Luckily fan voting only counts as 1/3 of the process. If Roy Williams even sniffs making another pro bowl, the term pro bowl becomes useless in my eyes.

Is there no weighted-average with a disproportionate amount going to the
fan vote ? Do you think that the fans, players, & coachs each get "EQUAL" consideration in the PB voting ? The reason I'm not totally convinced that each group gets 33.33 % is because of all the inequities we continue to see in PB representation. With fans, it's obviously very mcuh a popularity thing but one would think players & coachs, if they do get 2/3 rds of the total vote, would be more objective and tend to cancel more of the subjective player selection we tend to see in Honolulu. |

The Cowgirls play in the Nancy Football Conference. This just means that the Patriots will blow out a team full of NFC probowlers.

I guess it'll be good for the Girls after they get destroyed in the SuperBowl to watch em play one more game. Still think the Packers can beat them though with a healthy Brett Favre in the NFC championship.

As for the Cowboys..YES! Overall though Roy Williams is a joke in there. Maybe for hitting but he would be near the bottom in coverage...unless there is a Pro Bowl for blown coverages where your head goes down and you look beat

Is pretty sickening, but you can't complain about Witten or Ware getting the nod.
