the projections I saw had A&M in the independance bowl.. I'm not sure enough big 12 teams are bowl eligable for a big 12 team to play in the Texas Bowl. I could be making all of this up, I'm not sure.

Right now, only three conferences are affiliated with the Texas Bowl: Big 12, Conference USA and Big East... They also can invite TCU from the Mountain West, but only TCU.
