I watch NFL Gameday on the NFL Network every Sunday after I watch Inside the Game on ABC13. Gameday is the best football highlight show ever made.
They break down every game as if they are the hometown media for each team. They give credit where credit is due when it comes to the whole draft pick debacle and always refer to the Texans as a great young team with a bright future. I even can stand Deion Sanders for a little while on that show. He is actually enjoyable to watch on there. Who would have thought? |

I can handle Deons flair that he brings. I don't mind some flash with my news, as long as I am getting news too. One thing that is good on NFL Network is getting up to date stats as the game is in progress. Since I was unable to go to the game yesturday or for any away game, it is nice to be able to switch over from a game during commercial breaks and catch scores and stats of other teams as they happen with out having to wade through a talking head pimping a team.

Get used to it, the Titans are in the same boat except for Vince. Just realize that at this point yall are 5-5 in the best division in football so they won't talk about you.

The whole AFC south doesn't get any love publicity wise. Sure they admit it is the best conference, but when it comes to discussing and giving some love to the teams playing in it they rather talk about the Cowboys and Pats FOR THE WHOLE DAY. Like no one else plays in the NFL. |

There's not getting love, then there's having NO MENTION OF YOUR GAME IN AN HOUR AND A HALF SHOW.
Were we the ONLY NFL game not mentioned? |

thank goodness the Dynamo beat the Revolution and won the MLS Cup or we would have had to hear about the superior New England teams ad nauseum.
btw...that was my wife wearing the Dynamo orange shirt yesterday at the game. She got a lot of high fives from fellow fans for that move.

Too bad I didn't see this thread earlier. I just watched SC and Cold Pizza 2.0 in vain.

If I cited examples that I've seen of the YESPN sydrome I'd be here all day. I guess to add another twist their act I'll say I always laughed out loud when watching their coverage of NASCAR this year. Aside from their uninformed coverage, only Rusty Wallace brought anything to the show, was their playing hip-hop music while going to a commercial. This isn't anything on hip-hop, but that was a funny, as in comical, choice of music considering the alternatives. Yeah, I know, bring on the banjo jokes.

Overheard on Mike and Mike this morning...
all quotes are paraphrases, but pretty darn close Greenie: "The Texans have had their harsh critics, and I certainly among them, but this team is a lot better than many give them credit for." Stink: "Were it not for injuries...Andre Johnson...this is a 7-3 football team." Well, injuries are part of the game, but it is good to have AJ back nonetheless. Bennett and Mario looked good. Dayne looked better. Schaub looked like a field marshall. |

While discussing Denver's remaining schedule...they are saying that their schedule is so easy and the only competition is the Chargers...Emmit, yes the Cowgirl legend just pops out of nowhere... "Don't count the Texans out..."
I am just happy that we are not that team in the NFL no longer that people say "Oh, thats a win." |

For what it's worth, they were showing highlights of the game on NFL Primetime. Ditka was praising Mario on his sack and motor throughout the game. Wingo didn't say anything bad about the Texans, but didn't really praise them either. If anyone needs a big-ole helping of crow, it's Trey Wingo.
They also showed a handoff to Bush where he tried to bounce it outside and Mark Schlereath was yelling at Bush to run it inside and to stop trying to go for the home run everytime. Oh how the tides are turning....

It is easy to say lets not talk about the playoffs. Screw that, it has been a long road up until now not to get some ROI on this fandom. If anyone thought that a "playoff run" would be sexy and not a grind is fooling themselves. It feels like the first time, and I am going to enjoy it regardless if it has earthy tones, a back handed after taste or a vinegary pungency. Hello Cleveland!
