I would be fine with that pick. But I always feel that the problem with most mock drafts is that you really can't tell whether it is a good or bad pick without looking at what the team does in free agency too.
With this pick though, I would hope that we go after Michael Turner and draft a lineman in the 3rd. |

glad he said something smart about Miami's o-line, first time i've seen anyone say that all year aside from myself.
and nope, not buying the Patriots passing on McFadden. |

I agree. I can't see that happening.
Unless the Cowboys make a heck of a trade to sneak up and get him. I'm sure that Jerry would love to draft a Razorback of McFadden's caliber.

the Cowboys are going to (probably) have two low 1st rounders. they don't really have the ammunition to make this move. i think if he really wants an Arkansas back with talent he takes Felix Jones.

I just don't really get the feeling that Kubiak/Smith place very much value on the Safety position or enough that would warrant a top 15 pick.
I wouldn't be upset with the selection but would absolutely LOVE a trade down and select Felix Jones (if he declared), Ray Rice, or Aqib Talib. I'd take one of these guys and a 2nd/3rd rounder over Kenny Phillips. I also don't really think the Patriots would choose a LB a that high of a spot. I am fully aware of their LB age/situation but they can get much better value in a different round. They would be wise to trade down IMO because they have no pressing NEEDS. As much as McFadden would be fun to watch on their offense...I don't really see them getting the cost benefit associated with that high of a pick on a RB.

Ditka traded all 6 picks in 1999 (1st-12, 3rd-71, 4th-107, 5th-144, 6th-179 and 7th-218) plus 1st and 3rd-round choices in 2000 that became the 2nd and 64th overall. Here's a great trivia question: Who was the General Manager of the Washington Redskins that pulled off this incredible deal???

I wouldn't mind that pick at all, however I would like to see them try to trade down to the 20-28 area and pick up a second rd pick also.

Agreed: no one is going to sell the the fram for McFaddin. However there's a lot of tallent at the bottom of this board. Buyers market. Not going to take a farm sell to get the dolphins to move down. They get a shot at hitting three spots intead of one...I believe they take the deal. They aren't going to catch the Pats next season. J.J. has the cash and the exrtra Rb to sweeten the pot.

What do you guys think of Kenny Phillips? I have seen only a bit of Miami and he hasn't stood out, but like I said it wasn't much that I saw.
Right now, for the 49ers pick I'm liking Vernon Gholston, Adarius Bowman, Malcom Kelly, and Quentin Groves. |

WalterFootball.com has Jones projected to go in the top 15 picks, but they also have Slanton as a top 10 pick. Personally, I don't see either one going that high. My guess, as of now, is that Jones will go in the late 1st round or early 2nd. I also think Stewart will be picked before Jones or Slanton. JMHO! |

From what I can tell Philly, Carolina, and Denver all need a Saftey. It also looks like the only 1st round true Saftey is Phillips. Maybe we can create a bidding war between the teams and get a 2nd or an extra 3rd and 4th by moving down a few spots. Then we can look at RB in Stewart, CB in Talib Reggie Smith, or Jenkins, or if we want to go OLB and find a friend for Meco, Dan Connor. Oh, and I will say a name right now I want everyone to pay attention to: Wesley Woodyard. He is the leading tackler in the SEC right now and a senior. Know who the last 2 leading SEC tacklers were? Meco and Patrick Willis.
