The Commish better do something, or this will be a huge fumble. You cant take the 32nd pick and leave them the 3rd to 4th. Freakin terrible. Nice way to make em feel it. "As your punishment, you must draft McFadden..." What a joke.

I'm glad the Browns turned their season around since the Cowboys have their 1st round pick.

It should have been their highest pick. They should keep the 31st(with adjustment for the 3rd disapearing) and lose the 3rd-5th.

You can not take a pick away that they traded for that is stupid. You have to take away their own pick.

This was all hashed out months ago, sorry they made a smart trade that is what teams have to pay for when moving up into the first round.

how is it silly?

just think about it, if they took away the Niners pick, that would mean they're punishing the Niners. because the draft pick is decided based on the Niners record, and let's just say the Niners finish with the worst record in the NFL, and thus the #1 pick. and that would affect the rest of the NFL, because, let's just say Miami has the 2nd worst record, then Miami is picking first. or if San Fran finishes with the 6th worst record, then that pick is forfeited so a team that was 7th now moves up to 6th, etc...it just changes the entire landscape of the draft, and if you're going to punish the Patriots, you can't punish them by proxy of where the Niners finish up. it just doesn't really make sense.

But its not the Niners pick anymore, it belongs to the Patriots. They took ownership before the incedent, not afterwords. So, it is their pick aquired via trade months before they wrere caught. Its silly to say its not the Pats when in fact it is.

Goodell could have easily worded it as their highest pick, period. And IMO, should have. This is like the $15,00 fine. A joke in light of circumstances.

Yeah, no argument there, but it still is owned by New England. By this logic, if NE had traded their pick to somebody, they would have lost it when NE got the punishment.
