Default Who impressed you today?

tried to watch as much college football as possible today & was interested to hear your opinion of who impressed you the most today?

since Jonathan Stewart didn't play this weekend I'll give it a rest, I was searching for a legitimate NFL CB who could help the Texans secondary & it was not Ohio State Jr, CB Malcolm Jenkins. It was Kansas CB Aqib Talib. great size, speed, instincts & physical sacrifice. in my early draft book he's moved himself into the Top 20 range & Kansas is a team to be reckoned with.

The most impressive player I saw yesterday was just a freshman, Knowshon Moreno, RB, Georgia. His ability to cut at full speed, and maybe only needing astep to get to full speed is asthonishing.

I do know his name, but Illinois' quarterback seemed to get 'em when he needed 'em. I just saw the highlights but hell, now it time to sing another few bars of Another One Bites The Dust.

Juice passed for 140 yards went 12 for 22 but salted the game away with his game winning rushing 1st downs, 4.4 avg. 16 attempts for another 70 yards. starting with that 4th & 1 with 6:53 left in the game he personally converted 4 first downs & Ohio State never saw the ball again.

Gerogia has been one of my favorite teams all season. noticed Moreno early in the season when he was backing up Thomas Brown & thought he was every bit as good as the senior. by the way that was Thomas Browns first game back from a broken collerbone, I thought he made a strong return (81 yds. on 14 carries). this gives Georgia a potent two headed ground attack going into the bowl season.

That's cool man thanks. I'm sure they'll have a replay this coming week, I'd like to see it.

Well Tony Hills got his knee shreaded....I guess that means he now drops into the Texan's price range...er FA. I really liked the texas kid. Another unpornoucable . He's just a RS sophmore. One of those guys the whole team lights up when he's on the feild. Been awhile since the horns had an elite LB/DE.

Watched Kevin Smith of U. Of Central Florida. Raw fricken tallent. Give the guy the rock and watch the carnage. He can't block yet and you don't know if he has hands worth a darn. But he is such a beast... Raw fricken tallent. Ya know I know what the celling is with our Notre Dame kid. No one knows how good this guy could be with the correct coaches. Truely a man among boys.

Saw Cody Wallace C of Texas A& M up close. In other words I watced him every play and nothing else. Don't be too shocked if he isn't our #4 pick this draft. I liked the Marhall Kid also at C. Anyone cought the Wake Forset -Clemson game...need a report on the two centers. Hope they replay it this week.

New Mexico St. Sr. OLT is a project. You know he can pass block. But he just looks so bloody stiff. I'd pick him up just so the next time someone ear holes our QB he could come off the bench and beat the fellow to death.

Melton of Texas will fall through the draft. Someone is going to give the guy a sniff in camp next summer. Don't be shocked if he makes someones PS as a special teams/ project guy. He's big and he can run. He made a very athletic play from the ground yeterday. On the one hand you could say he was a disaster getting knocked to his feet. On the other hand, scrambling off his butt to go vertical and bat down a screen pass, well that was prety special athletic abilty.

Default Re: Who impressed you today?

my first watch of Talib, very impressed. led the team in tackles (9) took out OSU top offensive weapon with a brilliant play & added his 4th pick of the season for good measure.

also Marcus Henry made a lasting impression. big, physical game breaking WR caught 8 for 199 & 3 td's. off that one performance he earned a 1st rd. grade from me

just researched Henry a little bit & had a hard time locating information on him. he is a senior & not even listed as a draftable prospect. he is the definition of a sleeper prospect then, reminds me of Marques Colston both over 6'4" 200 lbs with better field speed than measured. plucks the ball, showed me he could fight & catch in traffic using his height/weight advantage then sperating himself with sprinter speed.

Talib is every bit the talent on national tv as I had hyped him up to be huh beerlover. Haha. In all honesty, I was at the game, and they would not throw to his side of the field. It was (potential) All-American vs. (potential) All-American, and Talib won the battle and actually knocked Bowman out of the game with a very solid lower body tackle.

On the subject of Henry, I don't know what they put in his water, but he is nowhere close to that good. Fluke game, but somebody new steps up every time for us. He was a 1-star coming out of HS, we took a flyer on him because litteraly nobody else would. His hands are not that strong, and his lapses in concentration are frightening. Solid player, but not worth drafting. You want an offensive player with NFL potential? Brandon McAnderson. I don't actually know offhand what year he is, but he is a hos running the ball.

Mr Donovan McNabb impressed me today. His performance essentially told his critics to shut the HELL UP!

Ben Roethlisburger impressed me with his leading a comeback to beat the Browns

& presently Jeremy Shockey is impressing me in the way he seems to be having his way with the Dallas Cowgirls.

This is for college football.

Xavier Adibi impressed me today because he played MLB. Vince Hall, their normal MLB, was out for the game and this guy stepped out of that OLB position and handled the MLB very well. Shows this guys versatility. No way this guy makes it out of the first round in the 2008 draft.

Another guy who impressed me, Rashard Mendenhall. He has been impressing me all year, and while he only had 88 yards on 26 carries (3.4 YPC) he showed me he can be a tough running back against a tough defense. He is only a junior but he really is a threat. He makes it much easier for Juice Williams to run that offense.

Congrats, I forgot for a moment they're your team. Talib is a solid, big corner.

thanks for the insight, loved the game he had didn't seem like a fluke but as I stated this was the first time I watched Kansas play.

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) -- Marcus Henry was an under-appreciated underdog who turned into something special, the epitome of No. 5 Kansas' remarkable run from nowhere to a legitimate national title contender.

Henry had a career-high 199 yards receiving and three touchdowns, Brandon McAnderson ran for 142 yards and two scores, and the Jayhawks stayed unbeaten with a 43-28 victory over Oklahoma State on Saturday night.

A skinny receiver who no one else wanted, Henry turned in the game of his career in his return to his home state as Kansas (6-0 Big 12) moved to 10-0 for the first time since 1899. The Jayhawks are now the only unbeaten team left in the six conferences with an automatic bid to the BCS after top-ranked Ohio State was upset by Illinois earlier in the day.

"Our whole team has been overlooked, and for us to be performing as good as we can, it's pretty good," Henry said.

The senior from Lawton had the fourth-highest receiving total in school history and caught more than one touchdown pass in a game for the first time in his career. Not bad for a kid who only got a look after a standout performance in an all-star game and got a late invite to training camp.

"He's a young man who just wanted an opportunity to play Division I. We gave him the opportunity and he's made the most of it," Jayhawks coach Mark Mangino said.

I was looking forward to seeing him play too.... seems like a solid 3rd rd. type of RB who could work out here if drafted & I really liked Todd Reesing, excellent pocket awareness, thought for a minute I was watching Bose State from last year

seems smart he schedules practice for Sunday (after playing) to review game film, address aches/pains & closure. then gives the players off Monday to rest while the coaches game plan for the upcoming week, simple & effeicient.

Kinda hard to know who your talkin about cuz most of UT's best defenders are sophmores.

Deon Beasley (CB) had an off day but he is a guy to watch in the future.

Lamarr Houston (DE) is already a beast.

Sergio Kindle (OLB) makes some mental mistakes but he is an athletic freak.

Roddrick Muckelroy (OLB/MLB) is a tackling machine. (probably the guy you're thinking of)

Jared Norton (MLB) just doesnt make mistakes.

UT has no best defenders. This kid has the chance to be something special. As for your list, I'm not impresed. To much press and not enough production.

I get a hard on thinking a bout what he could do at the will.
