Default Advice for yellow Lot Tailgating...

I am seeking advice from anyone who tailgates in the yellow lot.
The company I work for is hosting about 60 clients for the Saints game, and some of our company admins have been working on tailgating for the game.

The company purchased 6 yellow lot passes from stub hub, and since I am a regular at the games, I have been asked to advise them on what to bring and so forth.
The tickets that were purchased come with free access to the practice bubble before the game for BBQ and drinks, so they chose the yellow lot for proximity.

We're bringing a 10'X20' tent, tables chairs a couple of kegs, mimosas, and soft drinks... nothing unusual.
I do have a big screen and generator, and might bring that if I think I can either get local TV reception, or maybe scrounge up a DirectTV option...

I was hoping to get some lot-specific advise on where to set up, and any other little things that you might know from experience in the lot that I might not know, being in platinum...
My initial thought is to set up as close to the bubble as possible to shorten the trip between there and the tailgate (yellow is close to the bubble, right?). Is there any reason that would be a bad idea?
Should I consider trying to be near the porta-cans, or maybe away from them???

That's the kind of stuff I could use some help with.

BTW, if you happen to see a banner like the image below, stop by and say hi. You can just ask for Big Mike... but I should be pretty easy to identify keeping my name in mind...

p.s. Mods, if posting my company logo violates any rules, please remove it... I am not posting it for the purpose of promoting my company... I highly doubt anyone will stop by to solicit any diving or deep water construction...

Good to see you making out to yellow, man!

The first thing you have to ask is if you want to party on grass or on pavement. The grass is slightly further from the practice bubble, but it's obviously not as hot (if that is an issue Sunday), and it's nice on the feet.

From the Main St. entrance, stay left if you want to go to the grass, and right if you want to park on the pavement closest to the bubble.

I think most of us in the forum park in the grass, FWIW.

Porta potties are everywhere, so that shouldn't be a concern.

Is the bubble within the yellow lot gates, or will people have to walk through a gate, then to the bubble?

Damn. One one of the best things about the Yellow Lot is lack of all that corporate BS going on over at the Blue Lot. Feel free to leave the company banner at home or park as far from the grass as you can.

Just kidding. Sort of.

I'm curious how 60 people fit under 200 SF tent.

The bubble is outside the gates of the Yellow, but it's only about a 5 minute walk.

If you want to park close to the gate that leads to the bubble you all better get in line early. The line forms obviously at the yellow lot gate, but if you want to make sure you are able to have a short walk to the bubble get there early. I think you find many friendly people in the yellow lot. You may want to check out Texan Mojo's action, they are always entertaining and fun, they will be on the grass. If doesn't rain the grass is the way to go.

I can understand your sentiment on the corporate thing... I didn't know there was a difference in the amount of companies tailgating in each lot...

We're not really expecting 60 people to be at the tailgate at any one time. I think we'll only have a percentage of the total people who have tickets who actually make it to the lot, and hopefully, those will be spread out between our space, and the bubble...
Personally, I'd be happy if only 20 or so people ever even came out to the tailgate...

On the other hand, we actually have 80 tickets... the company gave 65 out to clients, and 15 of our executives and sales staff will get tickets.
Funny thing is, I'm just a lowly a project manager, so I don't rate a ticket... I'll be up in the "cloud walker's" (600s) section...

To get as close to the bubble as you can, parking on the concrete and going all the way down towards the bubble would be the way to go. But as mentioned, the earlier you get there the better.

The closest corner of the grass area is probably about 35 or so yards from the gate that leads out of the yellow lot, across the street to the bubble. And depending on where you are on the grass...you can get there early and be on the 1st row, but if they park you on the north end of the row, you'll be much further from the gate as opposed to being on the second or even third row on the south end.

I do not know how it works on the concrete side. All I do know is that as of the last tailgate, when entering, if you want grass you need to be in the 2 left lanes and if you want concrete you need to be in the 2 right lanes. That, of course, is subject to change.
