Mayor Jerry Sanders said he would decide Thursday whether to allow the Chargers to play their scheduled game against the Houston Texans on Sunday at Qualcomm Stadium. The stadium is in use as a shelter for people evacuated from the path of the wildfires.

Sanders said at a news conference Wednesday that he would make his decision based upon the needs of the people who remain in the shelter.

The Chargers Tuesday were narrowing down contingencies for playing elsewhere.

“The Chargers are working closely with Mayor Sanders and the fire and police departments to determine how best to deal with Sunday's scheduled NFL game at Qualcomm Stadium,” the team said in a statement. “Protecting the public safety is the mayor's top goal, and the Chargers will continue to cooperate with the mayor to achieve this goal.”

Who knows?? It might have quite the opposite affect. Maybe Chargers fans would enjoy the smack right now... Almost cathartic.

Im sure it will be there....Dallas or Houston. But we will adapt *motivational hand movement* and overcome, and streets will flow with the blood of the non believers!

you could put any coach in oakland the last four years and watch it go to hell, art shell had a hell of alot worse season with oakland the following year, as from i understand, bill callahan and al davis drug that team out.
