I'm sorry but the team deserved to get booed for the first 3 quarters....from the idiotic play calling, to the lack of heart out there.....I didn't really care who won, but even I was upset to pay money for the horrible crap that the Texans displayed out on the field for 3 quarters....it ended being a fantastic game at the end, but fans do have the right to boo and they should if a their home team is playing pathetic.

I love this one, it comes up a couple times a year. I dont boo the team, even though I booed the 40,000 people that left the stadium before the comeback, but if you want to booo go ahead.
I just love how some people equate it to the type of fan or person you are. Each fan has their own way of displaying their displeasure with the team, I tend to do a lot of cussing and some booo. To each his own knock yourself out. Heck they diserved it at the end of the first half. Telling someone they shouldnt boo because it doesnt help none is like saying cheering really helps the team play better. Do you really think that the players put out that much more effort if you cheer, if you do then the opposite holds true as well. If you boo they try less, not true, trust me a guy like Demeco Ryans is going to give 100% no matter what. The thing it does help is relieve some fans frustrations. |

Actually I do beleive that an electric atmosphere really get the players pumped up. It also helps throw the offense off when they cannot hear the audibles and such. I do think cheering can have a positive effect on a team.

actually, studies have been done which resulted in the conclusion that home field advantage is mainly attributable to the social support of the home audience.
Whatever though, I already said I should have stated it more as an open question than a statement. I still won't boo the team, and you guys who want to go right ahead and boo all you want. |

Also, I can understand booing helps releive frustration rather than just sitting there holding it in.

No, I didn't sit there and cheer them on. I bitched and complained to the people I was with. That is how I vented. We all kind of vented to eachother. Then I went and walked around for a few minutes, then I went back in when everyone else was leaving.....

The only problem I have with the crowd is hollering when the team is on offense with the ball. I know a bunch of coparate types hold the tickets...but that's just stupid. May be they should offer the million aires etiquette class before the kick off. Will say, whether anyone in the Texans organazation cares or not...there were ten thousand or so that held the roap to day and didn't bug out at the third quarter on the team . Didn't see too many corparate types among them though.

So you're saying that you'd rather that if the fans are getting agitated with the team that they should go walking? 70,000 fans walking around in the concourses? Seems it'd be easier and less chaotic to just to boo.

People are made at fans booing? Did you see that load of crap that was on the field in the first half? Even the players say they deserved the booing they got. Look, if I paid my money to go to the game, drove down to the stadium and the team puts up that kind of performance, you are damned right I am going to boo. I didn't boo yesterday because it was beyond booing what I saw on the field. I was so upset and disappointed I was ready to leave for my own mental health.
People see the Texans game as the highlight of their week. They spend money on tickets, jerseys, parking passes, hats, beers, etc. They expect to be entertained. That is what sports is entertianment. When the team is obviously not ready to play and looks totally confused, people get pissed. I would rather them boo than get so upset that they pick a fight with fans in the stands. They have to let that frustration out somewhere.

I am NOT a booer.... But yesterday tested me - a lot!!! I had to 'bite my tongue'
Though I choose not to boo, I can understand others that do and will not challenge them over it.. Yesterday was a pathetic showing for three quarters and people's frustration was justified.

There should never be a game that the half-time performance steals the show. Good as it was, that wasn't the reason 70K people came to the stadium yesterday. There was a young girl two rows in front of me about 10 or so years old that was sporting her Ryans jersey. After one especially bad play in the third quarter, she aggressively pulled the jersey off, and underneath was a Young jersey. I managed to stay until the end, and thank goodness by banging on the empty seats we were able to generate a lot of noise during the comeback. I though this was going to be a breakout year of some good solid football. I'm not into playing with beachballs, but if things don't improve I will bring some papers to grade. |

When you are as pathetic as this team has been the past 5 games you deserve to be boo'ed.

What's the problem with booing? To me, if you're not going to boo, then don't cheer. Just sit there in your expensive seat and act like a robot animatron with no emotions whatsoever. Cheering means you are happy with what you are seeing, and booing means you are unhappy with what you are seeing. What, do you people think these millionaires are that fragile or something? Some of you need a serious reality check.

Hey, I've heard alot of people case on the people that left but you know what, you paid for the seat or scored it from someone so you can do what you want. Don't feel guilty. There is a point where you get tired of seeing sucky. I usually sit through the misery when I've been at games but I don't fault people for not looking for 27 4th quarter points.

Maybe people were "moooooooing", to tell them that they are playing like female bovine instead of the bulls they are supposed to be.
![]() In spite of coming out strong at the beginning of the season, our team looks a lot like S.O.T. (same ol' Texans). Except they showed some heart...so I guess it's S.O.T. + heart. Losing still sucks, though, and watching pathetic football sucks even more. They freakin' DESERVED to be boo'ed for the garbage they were trying to put over on us!!! |
