The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have acquired seventh-year veteran tailback Michael Bennett from the Kansas City Chiefs. It was not immediately known what the Chiefs received in the trade.
Bennett, 29, told the Kansas City Star that he was apprised of the trade by officials from both teams on Monday evening. Sources who are close to Bennett and who attended the Monday night game in Atlanta confirmed the deal.
Updating a previous report, the Kansas City Chiefs have announced they have traded RB Michael Bennett to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for undisclosed draft choices in 2008 and 2009 based on performance criteria.
