Oregon State 31, Cal 28

Cal had a chance to tie it on their final drive, but the QB avoided a sack and scrambled for a few yards, but they had no timeouts left and not enough time to spike the ball.

So both the #1 and #2 ranked teams lose this week. Ohio State and Boston College will be the top ranked teams

I'm looking forward to the BCS standings coming out. A BC / USF title game ought to get us moving toward a new system. ($$$$)

If history tells us anything it'll simply mean more modifications, trinkets, and tinkles to the BCS system

The BCS system is like a self-sustaining robot

when it's on the verge of being obsolete

it keeps itself alive by adding on a bunch of parts that take up more space compared to the usefulness of it

kinda like a guy trying to pimp out a run-down Crown Victoria

I think the BCS is now in over it's head. Everybody's been pleading and begging for playoffs and now they're going to get it.

The killer of the BCS..............parity

even the almighty BCS can't overcome that.

The thing is, is all these rankings don't mean crap, because "any given Sunday, is becoming......"any given Saturday".........and there's only one answer for that.

When the new rankings come out tomorrow the top 5 might just look like this:
1. Ohio State University
2. Boston College
3. University of South Florida
4. University of Oklahoma
5. University of South Carolina

This is a great year for upsets. If Hawaii stays perfect, we might see them sniffing at the Natl Championship game. I would love to see a South Florida vs South Carolina National Championship game or even South Florida-Hawaii! If those matchups do not spur a playoff , I am not sure what will.

cal was #2 because they beat a few good teams and that's saying a lot this year.
