Default This may have been mentioned already but....
I logged into nfl.com tonight and looked at the standings. It was hard to miss a really odd statistic. There are 7 teams in the AFC with winning records right now. 4 of them are in the AFC South.

I'm starting to think that we could finish 9-7 and still be in last place in our division.

I know right, that is why the division games mean so much more this year. Because you can't really depend on other teams losing. I'd still be happy about 9-7 though.

I think Tampa can hand Tenn a loss, we just gotta go to Jacksonville and put them in their place...which is losing to the Texans

That's why you gotta win in your division... we need to sweep either Jax and Tenn and at least split with the other... and hope for a miracle in Indy

On the flipside, no AFC West team has a winning record, and the Raiders took the division lead in a grueling battle with the bye week.

Until proven otherwise I don't think he's that far out there. At least not with the Jags sweep thought.

I'm not saying we will or even that we should sweep the Jags. I am saying that for years we've played them harder than any other team in our division. We beat them when we have no business beating them. I can't explain it but we always seem to have their number to some degree.

I do think it is crucial for us to split our division games this year though. It will be tough after losing that home game to Indy but we're going to have to step up and win a division game on the road that we're not supposed to win.
