Default Eagles give up 12 sacks vs. Giants !

Umenyiora, from the right end position, picked on Justice for most of his sacks, and other defensive linemen took turns pushing, pulling and throwing McNabb to the Giants Stadium turf. Umenyiora had never recorded more than two sacks in a game, and had just one sack in his previous eight regular-season games.

After seeing something like this, I'm feeling pretty dang good about our OLine.
I watched some of the game last night and if you remember former USC OT Winston Justice, you can understand why he fell so far down in a Draft which many Mockers had him going somewhere in the top half of the first round.
As Madden said, he basically put this Umenyiora guy (Giants DE), in the Pro Bowl last night.

This is what I stated in another thread:

Oh God. I watched a good bit of that game, and if ever a player was owned by another, Osi literally owned Winstson Justice. Amazingly, Andy Reid never gave any help to Justice. If I were a major Eagle fan, I would be calling for his head on a platter today. That was inexcusable. I saw them try to double team with the guard some, but the TE was usually on the right side of the line. Strange to say the least. I was thinking that the ghoist of Dom Capers somehow landed in Andy Reid. I actually felt sorry for the guy he was getting embarrased in a major way, and Reid left him alone on an island.

Seth Wand felt sorry for WJ last night if he watched the game.

I was pretty amamzed at myself at the coaching decision to not give Justice any help because it's his first start ever and he's going up against one of the more underrtaed DE's in the league. Osi was using all the moves too which made it worse because i saw a few highlight and OSi used a bull rush, spin, speed rush all in the matter of a few downs. What's sad is when Donovan got time he was hitting the open guy usually.

This Eagles team continues to look disjointed this season though i will give them this they've been hit just about bad as us with key injuries

it is as much Andy Reid's fault for not adding anyone to the left side of the line to help WJ.

Right on that in more ways then one.

First off with Justice. He played well in the time he had against the Lions after Thomas was hurt. He was inactive all of last year because no time was missed by any of the Eagles starters. Very limited playing time, to say the least. So when it became obvious to the whole world that he could not handle Osi, take him out, move Herremans to LT, where he has played, and usr Jean-Gilles at LG. The game was still winable and the pressure was coming from the ends. Why try to ruin the mind the kid you drafted to be the LT after Thomas retires by letting this beating go on?

Next, using Mahe in the backfield to pick up a blitz, something he never has been able to do, while you have a bigger back in Tony Hunt on the sidelines. Mahe was in three times to do this and when 0 for three. Hunt could not have done any worse.

All that lead to getting McNabb hit 28 times by my count. Nice way to treat your star QB, who the world could see has clearly lost his abilty do to the injury to take the first hit and stay up. If Reid wants to go with Kobl, just do it. Why try to kill McNabb, who had the game of his life the week before?

Last. Did Reid forget to take the play book away from Spagnuolo when he left for the Giants DC job? McNabb goes to the line, sees the Giants up, calls out something, Giants back out. Went on all night. Have to find sone new names for the plays.

I Wikipediaed this guy, and its interesting:
Where have I been, 'cause I never heard of this Umenyiora guy, but he is somebody in the NFL. Already. Guy got 14.5 sacks year-before-last in this mans league !
He's another Nigerian - sound familiar ! I dunno, but did he graduate from college while still in his teens ? And he went to Troy State. DeMarcus Ware's school.

What? Everybody knows Umenyiora (except the Eagles O-coordinator apparently).

He's a beast.
