What are your guys thoughts on signing a wide receiver with the injuries to AJ & JJ? Also, what are we going to do at running back? Do you think Walker gets activated off the practice squad?

We have at least two rosters spots to fill (Killings and McKinney), so it just depends which direction the team wants to go.
I think they will sign/bring up a wr and rb, but who knows?

Kubiak said in his presser that "if" Dayne can go on Sunday (atlanta) Walker will stay on the Pratice Squad. And it sounds like Dayne will be able to go on Sunday.
As for WR, it'll either be Harry Williams off teh Pratice Squad or they will sign somebody. |

I don't know if I am too confident in Dayne and Gado...we'll see though.

So we're going in to ATL with Dayne and Gado? And Dayne's been nicked up. Does this mean that Ahman would dress and just "ride the pine?"
Hard to feel good about that.... Not trying to be negative, but dang. Reality stinks.

McClain asked Kubiak about the possiblity of them resigning Bethal Johnson and McCardell. Kubiak said they would evaluate that situation, but didn't give any indication one way or another.

Lose two lineman, bring up two skill position players. Doesn't sound quite right to me. Maybe as a temporary move until Dre gets back.

Maybe bring up Frye from the PS for the other slot?

I was thinking the same thing about Robert Ferguson. At the time I thought we were set with our WR corps. Nobody would have guessed we would have two of our top three recievers out by week 4. Bummer.

Look for Wali Lundy and McCardell to maybe come into the fold. Wait, is Corey Bradford avaliable?

out of all the players that lost, got hurt, etc. . . is there anyone out there good enough for back ups or starters
Killings was a backup for both of the DT's Need a back up if not starter at center with flannagan WR not sure if what we have will cut it if AJ is still out RB Looks like Dayne is at the end of his rope/ and not sure if Green will be able to stay healthy. Can't see Gado as a #1 am I missing anyone?

Killings was only here because TJ and Amobi were nicked. They cut a TE to get him on the roster.
White should be the backup at center and I'm sure Studdard would have to be the guard backup now. With AJ and JJ out it looks like K-Dub and Apostrophe Davis will be the 2 starters with Mathis as the wr3. None of that really rattles me that much. On the other hand, RB has me trembling in my boots. I'm not comfortable with Ahman's knee, Ronnie in general, or Dr. Samkon. I referenced Corey Dillon earlier as a joke but as night stretches into morning, that's not sounding so funny.

With McKinney down, that means that Chris White is on-deck and Chris has looked OK. He's young and he could be our future at center. But after that, we'd probably have to pull Hodgdon back into the mix. Andre Davis and Jerome Mathis looked OK. I wanted to see more from Kevin Walter; I really wanted to see him step up and catch a lot of balls. We had a lot of guys that we didn't want to cut at the end of pre-season so we'll probably grab one or two of those guys and put them into the rotation. At RB, I really wouldn't be surprised to see Lundy brought back. Darius Walker is an option. BUT... that's just the "known" quantity guys. I know that Rick Smith has satellites devoted to tracking the whereabouts of every possible guy on the street that could help us. He's making a list and checking it twice. Expect him to bring in some surprises for workouts.

Guys who are out there: Corey Dillon Patrick Pass Cedric Cobbs Earl Campbell Wali Lundy Antowain Smith Jamel White Roger Craig Aw, forget it. It's just too depressing. Everyone start praying for Ahman's knee.

I think either one of them would be a good pickup, they already know our offense.

Dude I do not find this line of jokes funny. He gave it all and left it on the field. Joking about his walking ability would be like making funny of an 80 year old lady with a parking sticker, just not funny.
what next a bunch of mom jokes?

... speaking of him - according to his latest blog the Texans are gonna bring David Anderson back in at WR. I guess Bethel Johnson didn't really impress the coaches very much. /shrug |
