The author missed that the Colts were not in cruise mode last year and were playing for home field advantage.

yeah that is a common misconception of the ill-informed. we gotta make Peyton pay this Sunday. Build a new house of pain just for him. It should be the most jacked up crowd since Week One in '02 v. the Cowboys.

if the Texans can find a way to beat the Colts, I would have to say that making the playoffs is no longer a possibility but a probability. Could you imagine a 5-1 start? I can.

Thanks for the comments and criticisms thus far. Keep 'em coming.

Just want to address the Colts "cruising" thing: It was not meant to imply Indy had nothing to play for, but more that the Colts had already clinched their spot in the post-season, were almost certainly looking ahead and most-definitely taking the Texans lightly (understandable, of course, given the history of that match-up).

Having said that, it still should have been stated more clearly in the column.

Thanks again for reading!

IF (knock on wood) they beat the Colts--who are you predicting the loss against?

Nice article. Still have to differ with you on this issue though. Indy has gotten knocked out of the playoffs several years on away games--most notably Foxboro. Dungy and Manning have talked about how important home field advantage is to them. We benefited from Sanders being out, but they sure weren't looking past us or coasting.

no worries. we can simply agree to disagree.

whether or not the Texans received Indy's best effort, I still maintain Sunday's win was the most impressive and potentially important victory in franchise history.

of course, the only thing that truly matters is what kind of effort Houston and Indy put forth this weekend. I agree with 2nd honeymoon in that this Sunday's match-up will be the biggest seen at Reliant Stadium since the Cowboy game in '02.
