I just flipped over and caught UCF have a great goal line stand and then impressively march down the field for a TD. What a year so far for the underdogs.

They went on a rain delay just after my post. I hope it doesn't destroy CF'd momentum. I thought Colt McCoy was overrated last year. We'll see how he holds up this season.

Texas wins by 3. They will almost certainly fall in the rankings. Texashas 4 turnovers and won by 3. A boneheaded move by Mack nealry comes to bite Texas on the butt. When Texas is up 11, he chooses to go for two instead of kicking the epa. Of course Jamal Charles puts the ball on the ground...again and of course UCF marches down to get a TD and 2 point conversion. If UCF had gotten the onside kick they could have had an opportunity to kick a fg. In my mind thats just bad play calling on Mack's part. There is no difference between 12 and 13 (3 possession games), but a huge difference between between 12 and 11(a 2 possession game). UT is lucky to get out of there with a W and hopefully will still be a top 10 team when the rankings come out tomorrow.

I saw the failed 2 pt attempt on GameChannel and assumed it was a botched snap or something on the kick that turned into a 2 pt conversion attempt. You're right, going for two was an incredibly stupid move.
Looks like Texas is in trouble. Their only "quality" win was against TCU, but considering what Air Force did to 'em, clearly that was an overrated team.

I'm a big O'Leary fan from his days at GA Tech. I'm betting Notre Dame wishes they hadn't checked his resume quite so closely right about now.

What's forgotten here is it was a new stadium opening for UCF and when UT in the top ten rolls into town you want a big opening. That crowd was really stoked down there and made for an electric atmosphere even if it was rain soaked.
IMO it goes back to Michigan losing at the big house. Any small time school should now have the confidence there is really a chance to score a W if they play well. Limas Sweed also went out early in the game. Much as i like Jamaal Charles i'm just not sure if he can get it done up the middle and that's why Some other backs were getting shots. No this team isn't as good as last years. You don't lose two senoir members of your Oline, two starting corners, a safety, a starting RB, all the NFL and be nearly as good. That really had trap game written all over it and Yeah UT is lucky to get out of that alive. I'm glad it happened now and hopefully something can be adressed and worked out before the OU game. Fact is this year you can't let up on the small teams. |

Agreed. UCF was primed as a trap game. New stadium. Away game. Fans pumped. Team full of Florida football players.
The fact that we won with 4 turnovers is impressive. Charles needs to be smacked in the mouth for carying the football like a loaf of bread that late in a tight game. What a dummy. You have the first down. Just protect the rock!

I watched with little care as to the outcome. My interest was strictly on the guy that I pray slips to the third round and we snatch up, Kevin Smith is going to be the real deal.
