Priest Holmes Can't Spell Larry Johnson

..........at least not on the football field........and not against the Texans for sure. He's been placed on reserve/NFI (non-football injury) list. If KC is going to try to beat us with Johnson alone (and he probably won't get too much help from his QB or backup RB), they may find that Johnson gets somewhat battered from the git go of the season.........ice pack, linament and bedrest for the next week or so........

Even though Holmes' non-return may not be entirely a surprise, it certainly adds a little more burden to an already burdened 1st team QB.............and it's certainly not a bad occurence for the Texans upcoming game chances of victory.

I think the Chiefs also have Michael Bennett as a backup, so he provides some insurance.

He carried only 36 times all last year. He also has had a serious case of "fumblitis" throughout his career............Bring him on. If Johnson isn't ready the first week and Bennett takes most of the carries, the Texans should have a field day.

LJ has proven that he can take 300+ carries over the course of a season. If I were a Chiefs fan, I would not be concerned with his durability. Rather, I would be concerned with their weak O-line.

Historically, when a RB gets more than 375 carries in a season, they break down and get injured the next year and just do not perform. LJ had 416. You could see him wearing down by the end of the season. By the time they played the Colts, LJ was spent.

He may or may not be ready to play us. He'll probably be working his way into shape. He SHOULD be in shape to play us. He'll probably have a couple of good games and then break down. Hopefully, one of those good games doesn't come against us.

He was third string behind Deuce and "Jesus in Cleats" Bush. He was good enough for us to make a serious push for. KC will be fine with those two guys. Once again, we must stop the run.

................But Deuce and Bush had a decent pass threat.......as do we..........to deflect some of the run load and allow for opening up some holes for a RB. I still believe that Bennett would not fair well as the "main horse."
