This from the Texans' site suggests Davis plays the position AJ does, so AJ's backup will be a fight between Davis and Jerome Mathis. I don't see David Anderson hanging on to his listing here, but rather a decision between Walter, McCardell and JJ for the WR spot opposite AJ.

*Below is the Texans' unofficial depth chart. Last update: Aug. 5, 2007.
Offense
POS First String Second String Third String Fourth String
WR Andre Johnson Andre' Davis Jerome Mathis Charlie Adams
LT Ephraim Salaam Jordan Black Brandon Frye Charles Spencer
LG Chester Pitts Kasey Studdard
C Mike Flanagan Steve McKinney Chris White Drew Hodgdon
RG Fred Weary Drew Hodgdon Mike Brisiel
RT Eric Winston Kevin Barry Scott Jackson
TE Owen Daniels Mark Bruener Jeb Putzier Joel Dreessen
WR Kevin Walter David Anderson Keenan McCardell Jacoby Jones
QB Matt Schaub Sage Rosenfels Bradlee Van Pelt Jared Zabransky
RB Ahman Green Ron Dayne Samkon Gado Wali Lundy
FB Vonta Leach Jon Abbate Jameel Cook Patrick Pass

I think Keenan has to show he has enough left in the tank. Walter has to show he'll bring to the game what he's shown in practice to lead Kubiak and staff to designate him as a starter now.

It will be interesting to see if Jacoby can unseat the starter at WR#2 by the end of this season or if it will be next season that he takes over the #2 spot.

Andre Johnson
Kevin Walter
Jacoby Jones
Jerome Mathis

I think those 4 are locks.

Then it will be a real dog fight between McCardell and Davis for the 5th spot.

Harry Williams also might get a sniff as well.
