I was trying to get a judge on how mario looks (this year compared to last), and i know camera angles and such makes a difference in the view (not to mention shoulder pads)

I would say probably towards the end of next week. Get about 5 days of practice done without pads then start with the pads.

In reference to Mario, I think he has slimmed down or maybe is more toned this year.

he has and I think that Babin has bulked up.
