Icing on the cake that is one of the worst franchise offseasons in recent history:
NEW YORK -- Tennessee Titans cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones withdrew the appeal of his suspension Tuesday and will serve the one-year term imposed by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. "I understand my responsibilities to my teammates, the Titans and my fans and I am committed to turning my life around and being a positive member of the NFL," Jones said in a statement issued by his agent. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2901842 The actual article is much longer but that's the gist. Guess that Kelley Herndon signing wasn't just a shot in the dark, eh?

I'm thinking that the Flaming Thumbtacks need to go out and sign an older CB to mentor Pac so that he can learn what real leadership is about....

Odd spin being put on it by titan fans. They seem to think it is a sign of his growing up and taking responsibility.

I still wondering why it is they couldn't sign any decent receivers, and what receivers they had . . . left.
Anyone else find that a little . . . odd?

I think the Titans saw the writing on the wall. They had already scooped up Kelly Herndon, a serviceable CB, from Seattle a few days ago after the Seahawks released him.
As a Texans fan, I gotta say I aint sad that PacMan is gone for the year, but the football fan in me is a little sad. PacMan may be a dirtbag thug wanna-be but he is a pretty damn exciting football player. He probably had 3 of the top 10 greatest individual plays in the NFL last year. but at the end of the day, the guy had to go. he is just a bad example for all the other players in the league. portraying a thug image is lame and counterproductive for both the league and the african-american community at large.

I don't know if someone's brought this up yet, but perhaps this Titans offseason is a bonified result of the Madden Curse???

Pac Man's case in Fayette County, Georgia where he bit a cop has been delayed until September.
Pac Man realized the only way he would win on appeal is if he cleared that case before Camp started. With the case delayed, he might as well sit for the season. But look at this: As Las Vegas police attempt Wednesday to sway the district attorney that it has a stronger case against Adam "Pacman" Jones, the suspended NFL player's agent has confirmed that Jones has provided DNA samples that twice have tested negative in connection with a fight inside a Vegas strip club. Jones' DNA sample twice has returned negative results for what apparently included an allegation of a bite during the fight, Huyghue confirmed. The incident occurred during NBA All-Star weekend in February http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/s...=ESPNHeadlines |
