Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports the Miami Dolphins have acquired QB Trent Green from the Kansas City Chiefs for a fifth-round draft pick in 2008 that can become a fourth-round draft pick depending on Green’s playing time with the Dolphins. The deal is contingent on Green passing a physical.

I guess what I'm most curious to see now is where Culpepper ends up. I was thinking while I was driving in this morning that I can't really see a team that is needing a QB - and you know he's going to want a starting job.

He would be a perfect short term fit in Oakland. Who does JaMarcus most often get compared to?

Agreed, it's almost like Oakland was waiting for this to happen.

Right, right.
I had thought about that and he does fit what Grandpa Munster, er... I mean Al Davis likes. Big, strong-armed QB that can move the ball vertically. With that said, I could have sworn that I had read that Josh McCown had looked sharp thus far.... If I remember right, McCown was a pretty mobile dude. Culpepper, not so much anymore. Pep + bad o-line = sack machine?

All that said, yes it's a perfect fit for Oakland. It'll be Aaron Brooks part II. |

Over the last three years how many picks have the Dolphins used on QBs? A quick recap:
- 2nd round pick for A.J. Feeley - 2nd round pick for Culpepper - 6th round pick for Harrington - 6th round pick plus Feeley for Cleo Lemon - 2nd roud pick for John Beck - 5th round/possible 4th round pick for Green That's 6 picks, including three 2nd rounders, to fill one position. And people criticize the Texans for using picks on D linemen. At least more than on DL can be on the field at the same time. |

Adam Schefter is reporting that Oakland is not interested (which surprised me, actually).
"None want to be identified, but some teams not interested in Culpepper can be named. Atlanta, Chicago, Minnesota, the New York Giants and Oakland Raiders -- teams that, at various points, have been linked in some way to Culpepper -- all said Wednesday that they have no interest in trading for or signing the soon-to-be former Dolphins quarterback. Possible destinations for Culpepper according to NFL personnel men that speculated on the matter still include the Detroit Lions, the Jacksonville Jaguars, the New England Patriots and the St. Louis Rams. But no teams were willing to come forward to claim they had any interest in Culpepper. There also is no reason for the Dolphins or other teams to fabricate any interest in Culpepper; the asking price for his services is too low." http://www.nfl.com/nflnetwork/story/10216133 Jax I could see. Detroit I could see and maybe even St. Louis. But New England, man, I just can't see that.

I think Green is about done myself. I think they have one of the worst QB situations in the league, and they could have signed Brady Quinn instead of Jerome Mathis II, but oh well. At best, Green will be adequate, but I think this is his upside. I see them as one of the worst teams in the NFL this year. Fins will have a top 5 pick.
As for Culpepper, I think the Raiders are a perfect fit, but Al is too senile to know which way is up.
