I'm not quite as opptimistic, but I do feel Schaub has all the ingredients for a success story. I hope he does well. there has been quite a few success stories with backup QB's like him that got stuck behind a etched in stone starter, then went on to have great careers once they got the chance to show their stuff. Brady, Favre, Montanna, etc

Come down off your high horse there podnah! If everyone threw unbased opinions around, this forum and others like it would be even more full of crap. I was just challenging him to where he was getting that feeling about Schaub since I can't quite get a feel on where or how he's going to do with little history of pt in the NFL.

I hope he is in the top 3 for QB's at the end of the season, I just can't say for sure yet.

I think a lot of the opinion on Schaub is coming from the fact that Matt is not "He who must not be named in Houston". The change at QB is a great thing for everyone involved. Hell, NFLN ran a 7 minute spot on why they think Schaub will succeed where "HWMNBNIH" could not. We won't know until we see what happens in Training Camp and Pre-Season. From the first couple of glimpses I've seen from the OTA clips, I like the way Schaub looks.

By the way, in case y'all don't know... NFLN will be airing the Texans training camp this year.

All of this talk of who the #2 WR will be and how good the QB will be is superfluous. What matters is how good will the O-Line be, and I have heard very little to make me believe that they will be as improved as they would need to be to make the Texans as good as some of you think they will be.

C'mon Gary, you're an NFL HC now, people listen to what you say and sometimes report it in national publications like this one. Think it thru a little bit more before you make such an outlandish comment.

Whether you agree with him or not I think he meant what he said and if there's one thing Kubiak does know about it's the passing game. I think when Moulds was let go, part of the reason stated was that Kubiak had confidence in Walters.

Perhaps you haven't heard. We've picked up Matt Schaub. That will fix all the o-line problems. Also, the Texans never really had o-line problems to begin with.

Of course I agree with you, but I've gone twelve rounds on this before. There are just a lot of fans on the boards right now who either think there really isn't an o-line problem or that most of the problems with the o-line were the QB's fault.

So, I guess my question is this... what are the pros and cons on Kevin Walter? I watched the majority of the Texans games on TV last year but can't recall anything about KW. With that said I generaly covered my eyes on obvious passing downs. Is he too slow? Runs poor routes? Above average hands?

Looking for a little insight here.

I was superfluous once..No that was superflatuous. Sorry. I agree that O line is important, but it did not have to improve much to maybe make a difference. Combine that with Green, Daniels back from injury, Schaub, etc maybe we will see improvement.
