May 3, 2007 By DAVE SPADARO Who says free agency is over? The Eagles have signed defensive tackle Ian Scott to a one-year contract. Scott, who has visited several teams, including New England on Wednesday, joins a deep and talented group at defensive tackle here. The 6 feet 3, 302-pound Scott started for Chicago in Super Bowl XLI. He is known more as a run stopper than as a pass-rushing specialist, but Scott will have a chance to both with the Eagles. The defensive line that played in the season's final game against the Saints will have a very different look in 2007. Defensive end Jevon Kearse plans to return to the lineup after suffering a season-ending knee injury early in the 2006 campaign. The Eagles picked up defensive end Victor Abiamiri in the second round of last week's draft. In free agency, the Eagles signed defensive tackle Montae Reagor, who played for the Colts last season, and traded veteran Darwin Walker. Last year's first-round pick, defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley, is the new starter at right defensive tackle when the team begins its post-draft mini-camp next weekend. A fourth-round pick of the Bears in 2003, Scott has played in 49 career regular season games registering 96 tackles, two sacks and an interception. Last season, Scott played in 15 games and had 31 tackles, five pass breakups and a fumble recovery. A three-year defensive tackle at Florida, Scott decided to enter the NFL draft following his junior season after posting 57 tackles, seven tackles for a loss, and one sack. He also earned second-team All-SEC honors as a sophomore. The Gainesville, FL, native attended Gainesville High School, where he earned All-America honors as a senior.

He will be a very valuable part of the rotation! Heck of a run-stopper!

May he have a very successful year, especially in two particular games against one Tony Romo.

That and I hope that the Browns do good next year since the Cowb-girls have the Browns 1st round pick next year.

Harry think we'll see a Jerome McDougle sighting this year? Dline should have a good rotation this year. I found it funny lasy year prior to the Kearse injury Philly had the ability to do something i've never really seen in football. They could bring in a complete line change like in Hockey. Should be an interesting year for the Eagles. |
