Who do you want and why?

Who's the one guy you really want to see end up with the Texans this year. Regardless of Round and whatnot.

Mine is Garrett Wolfe. Everyone doubts him because he's little (5'7", 180 lbs.). He is a great combination of speed and power. For a little guy, he packs a big punch. He is a hard worker, and can be electrifying to watch when he makes the cut, or plows over the Linebacker and turns on the speed. A longtime favorite of mine. People don't like the size and durability questions, and the fact that he can't move the pile. No one is willing to take a risk on him early and he knows that. His message to all the teams is that "I've worked hard for every spot I've held." He won't go before the 5th or 6th round, but could immediately step in as the 2/3 runner. I call it that because he is the opposite of the Dayne train and would be in when the situation called for it.

Look on you tube at what he did in the first game this year against Ohio State. He led the world in rushing this year, but played hurt midseason.

I would have loved to see him here because we need a long term solution at C and we don't have one...he's also a leader along the line and knows the ZBS.

John Wendling, safety out of Wyoming. From Rocksprings, WY. My brother worked the oil fields out there about 2 yrs. ago and got me watching him, and I'm telling you this kid can play ball. Plus since he grew up in Rocksprings so I know you don't have to worry about him in a fight.

I was shocked how good he did in the combine, and it just made me want him playing for the Texans even more.

He will probably go in the 3rd or 4th rounds.

Levi Brown. OT is not a flashy pick, so most people don't want us to use our 1st round on it. Charles Spencer is still an unknown and an uncertain. There is no guarentee he will return. Plain and simple, we MUST protect our 48 million dollar investment.

Brown is who I want, too. What I find alarming is that Kubes publicly stating that they will probably take an OT in the first round. Since he said that, then that means OT will not be taken, which again alarms me because that is exactly what I want them to do.

or he said it pubicly to make others believe it is purely a bluff when in reality it is his true intension to draft him at 10. Hmmm...

Dallas Baker WR-6-3 203 Florida

Only down side is he is still raw. Needs to work on inline and down feild blocking. Thats his only weak points, and with a decent WR to work with(and we already have some) he could be a legit #2 WR in a year. As you can see from the stas, not overly fast(they say his 40's aren't as fast as he plays), but he can produce. And will be around in the 5th.

Projected 4/5th round
Give the kid a year with Green and Dayne to work with and he could be a legit starter on any NFL team. Projected as the 8th best RB in the draft, give him a year to gain more power and work on his leg drive and cutting ability.

Status: Senior

Height: 5-10

Weight: 215

40-Yard Dash: 4.55 (EST)

Positives:
During his junior season, Darby showed that he could run well against good, even great defenses, particularly at the end of the season (he played spectacularly in losing efforts against LSU and Auburn). He also put up respectable numbers in Alabama's bowl game against Texas Tech. He possesses tremendous strength, can make catches out of the backfield, runs intelligently, and can make great players miss (see Alabama vs. Ole Miss.) Finally, he delivers when he needs to, and can consistently convert third-and-short situations.
Negatives:
Darby has mediocre speed for a featured running back, and lacks explosiveness. As such, he cannot make plays that break open games. This will only be more apparent in the NFL, where he will have a lot of trouble running to the outside. Darby also performed very poorly this season, during which he scored zero touchdowns, and barring the Florida game, did not play well against ranked opponents (He averaged 3.01 yds/carry against teams ranked by year's end).
Overview:
Though Darby has had a bad year, he made it clear during his junior season that he possesses undeniable talent and toughness, and that with a good passing game, he can run well against good defenses. Leon Washington showed that players with lackluster senior seasons can still be effective in the NFL. He may not be able to break open games, but he can gain short yardage and convert important third downs.
Projection:
A spectacular combine could lift him into the first day. Otherwise, he will probably end up in the late rounds.

most of the players I would love to become Texans will now be gone due to where our draft picks fall. the 1st pick I would have loved to seen LaRon Landry, Adrian Peterson & Levi Brown. all three should become all-pro players @ the next level, each bring leadership, athletic ability & toughness.

lost a whole bunch of potential players now without a 2nd so I'll just say I'm looking forward to seeing what Schuab is going to do as the Houston Texans starter, if he provides an upgrade @ QB then he was worth every penny.

3rd rd. I really wanted cb Eric Wright unlv. when its all said & done I beleive he will be one of the top 3 cb's of the 07 draft. teams are working him out now & he is proving that he is recoverd from injury & off field issues. he has excellent hands & can also be used in the return game. he is a playmaker. realisticly since the wr class is deep hopefully one will still be on the board for the Texans. my favorite wr is Anthony Gonzalez as a #2 he could step in & immediately have impact & take pressure off AJ/Schuab.

4th 5th 6th & 7th rd. bpa the Texans have so many needs Jay Moore de, James Marten ot, Aundrae Allison wr, Fred Bennett cb, Kevin Boss te, Keith Jackson dt.

When on his game, he is a force as a drive blocker and can handle outside pass rushers. But he takes off too many plays, sometimes gets high in his stance and suffers lapses in concentration (seven penalties the past two seasons).

Whenever I see something like "takes play off' that player gets marked off the list.

I'd prefer we take Landry, Nelson or Carriker.

I'm not huge on Yahoo sports myself. It this was an across the board problem that was multiply reported I'd have issues. I haven't heard as much.Curious about if they mean false start penalties or others. I keep in mind two of the toughest places to play are Ohio State and Michigan. Those two palces alone could account for penatlies...not to mention who you have to worry about on the field. I'm still hoping for Brown myself. I think it's a deep enough WR class to grab a guy like Jason Hill in the third. Not sure which direction we'll go wit hte first pick...i'd just like to see both lines continued to be upgraded.... a new punter would be awesome too

I'd really like to see us grab Aundrae Allison in the 4th as a sleeper. That won't happen though. He'll probably be gone by then. I'm watching for sleepers. I just couldn't help but root for Marques Colston last season. I'm a big underdog kind of guy.

Garrett Wolfe would be an interesting pick but I don't know where he would go in the draft. I haven't looked at enough mocks that went deep in the rounds. I'd definitely give him a shot and think he could work VERY well in the ZBS. Should we spend a 3rd or 4th on him? Not sure. Our backfield doesn't need a 'gamble' and Wolfe fits that bill with his small stature but I'd certainly love to see him become a Texan.

I'm just going to pump out offensive or defensive weapons rather than offensive linemen. We need linemen but they simply just aren't what I'd 'hope' for on my team. I'm hoping for explosive, slap you in your face, type of players and those generally fall towards defensive players as well as offensive weapons, not monotonous offensive linemen.

I agree I would try to move up to get Thomas, but I wouldn't trade away our first rounder next year. Having no first or second isn't too good considering we don't even know where we're going to end up picking and how good we're going to be this coming year.
