Every day driving to work I hear at least 2-3 random subjects on the Texans. Today these were the main three I heard thrown out.
1) From 790 am, a trade scenario where we join the Moss/Packer fray and offer the Raiders Carr, they give the Pack Moss and we get their 2nd or 3rd rounder. We can then use that pick to move up or do whatever. 2) Why are we continuing to pick up veterans that maybe have 2 years or so left? This from Sports radio 610. The mentioned the interest in Plummer and the guys we have gotten. They figured one theory was the staff didn't like the lockerrooom feel and needed some leaders and vets to change the attitude. 3) Vonta. This was also 610 and is already a thread on here. Basically people were asking why we didn't offer a 2nd round tender for the extra $450,000 and then make people give it up. The talk was the underestimated his value to other teams and if we match the offer we look foolish. Anyways, I wasn't hunting down 50 threads. I just wanted to throw it out there and see what stuck. I don't usually listen to all of these guys..more 97.5 but it was football talk today. Talk amongst yourselves.

How again would Carr be worth a 2nd rounder? Just curious. I think someone yesterday said that 790 was pushing some kind of Moss trade too. I guess they arent done with that topic yet.

I wondered the same. The theory being, I am assuming that it is Carr for Moss with the Pack giving the 2nd for Moss..or something like that. Either way it doesn't add up. 3rd would be the ceiling to me.

790 dosent know what the hell they are talking about IMO. I like 610 but they play too many comercials. Im not sure how that trade would work Carr/second round pick? Dont think it would happen but basically they are just trying to start up nonsence to help their ratings.

You got me. I'm just trying to figure out their scenario since they were advertising it as a 3 way deal where Moss still ends up with the Pack and we get the picks. I was more interested in the leadership/vet talk.

I would take T.O. before I would take Moss.
At least T.O. will play the game and not just trot down field. I hate Randy Moss. He acts like a spoiled brat that throws a fit and goes "limp noodle" when he doesn't get his way. He doesn't play hard and he thinks he's above the game, he constantly lets his team down, and cannot be counted on in the clutch. His attitude is horrific and respects no one but himself. He Doesn't deserve to be in the league. Just my opinion.

I do too. In their made up scenario though, that pick is used to move up. Heck, I say move down and load up.

I think we need to adress the QB position this year and I think BQ is going to be ready to go in if need be by week 6. Hopefully we wouldnt need him to and he can just learn from the sidelines but I think he is the only QB out there that we could rely on IMO. I would much rather have him then any of the other qb in this draft class. If we dont take care of our qb situation then it will be another year wasted. Carr is finished here, I like him he is a hell of a guy but I just think its time he changed scenery. BQ is our best bet.

As written this just does not make a lick of sence. Now if you through in the fact that Hou. trades down to green bays 16th now IMO you have the makings of a good deal for GB and Hou. Raiders get the shaft on this one(kind of like that after the P-Buc deal a do on to others type thing)
So deal would go like this: Raiders sent Moss to Green Bay: takes care of there problem child that won't work for them and has been a bad influnce in the locker room. In return thay get David Carr a QB that some people think has never gotten a fair shake in Hou. Allows Al and the FO to draft CJ or JT with the first over-all pick. Green Bay gets Moss: a go to reciver paired with Farve, don't think Moss'es work ethic would be in anyone convertion, will take Moss behind the wood shed and let him know a few things. Green Bay also gets the 8th pick in my seneiro with that thay can see if AP drops or grab Lynch if AP's not there. For this reason I say Hou. gets GB's 2nd rounder and possablely a 5th or 6th as well, but that is wishfull thinking. Houston lets the David Carr era go: Our Texans trade Carr to the Raiders for a 2rd pick(from GB) and now have the 16th overall in the first round, the 39th and 47th picks in the 2nd round and the 73rd pick in the 3rd round. (four of the top college players on the first day) Now Hou. must face the question who to take and who is going to be the future QB of the Texans. Fills the trade down senerio everyone so high on but of cource this is all rumor and we have to take it with a grain of salt. Draft day can't get here fast enough. |

On the other subjects above...I agree with the leadership thing. I think they are desparately trying to add vets who can be more of the leader types to change the locker room. Ironic since we gave up on Glenn and Sharper and others who fit the role. As for Vonta, I'll leave it to the other thread but if the match the offer, it was a bad move on their part.
