It seems like in terms of LB importance, and yes this is going purely off stats ive noticed around the league, it goes:
MLB, WLB, SLB Maybe we dont need a high profile guy there. Maybe we will be fine with Clark. If so, that frees up 1 need we had going into 07

We are more than likely to go after DB,WR,DL and our future QB(Not in particular order) in this coming draft. Other than that BPA IMO. But, a guy like Kalil(or similar to his caliber) slips on our lap in 2nd rd. than we should grab him.

If Clark can adapt to SLB I would be very happy with that.
My biggest concern would be coverage, but if we get some secondary pieces that is less of a concern.

why do WLBs seem to rack up so many more tackles than strong side LBs?

I can't recall who said this but, Clark is signed to replace Orr. at SLB. and to fill the needs and stability to our LBs. It seems to me that most important LBs is MLB like you said. I don't know if WLB is over SLB? Anyway, we got DeMeco and Greenwood that's pretty good + Clark should do the job for now.
I agree with you, we do not need a high profile player at every LB position as long as a decent player that can fill our needs. This is why I think we go after DB, WR and DL and QB in coming draft. DB and WR positions are pretty deep IMO. GO TEXAN!! |

id think a SLB is more important because they have to cover the te a good bit- plus team prob run more to the strong side

In the 4-3 I'll take a beast at WLB and an o.k player at SLB rather than vice versa.
