Cleveland is now on the clock and have traded the #3 pick to Houston for David Carr, the 8th pick and Houston's 2nd Rd pick.
Houston is now on the clock and have traded the #3 pick to Atlanta for Matt Schaub, the 10th pick and Atlanta's 2nd RD pick. Atlanta foaming at the mouth for CJ and scared to death arch rival Tampa would get him select Calvin Johnson. Cleveland with the 8th pick selects Alan Branch the guy they wanted all along, also get David Carr and Houston's 2nd RD pick (39). The Browns now have the 8th, 36th and 39th picks. Houston basically drops two spots in the first and 2nd RDs (150 trade value points) gets Matt Schaub and selects LaRon Landry a guy they had targeted with their 1st RD pick. The Texans have the 10th and 44th pick in the first two RDs and Matt Schaub. That is better than a 1st and 3rd for Schaub. It is more equivilant to a mid 3rd.

thats some very creative thinking
don't remember much about Matt Schaub he was a 3rd rd. pick himself & now has some NFL experience, mostly carrying the clip board, but I like his size & should be about ready to compete for a starting position. compared to this draft class he might be considered the 3rd best prospect with a 2nd rd. grade so that would seem to favor the Texans if they where able to make this trade.

I'll pass. I don't think he fits our system. Unless we traded Shaub...

Schaub has spent 3 years under Greg Knapp a WCO OC, who spent several years in SF and the last 3 in Atlanta. How does Schaub's 3 years as an understudy in the WCO not fit with our system????

Except Schaub can throw the ball. In limited action, he torched the Patriots for 300 yards and 3 TD's with Atlanta's receivers. If it were not for his ridiculous contract and merchendising, Vick would be on the bench holding a clipboard in Atlanta. I think that would be a good trade for all teams. Not likley to happen, but nice to think about.

I don't think Atlanta will throw their 2nd rounder in. they really want a 1st rd pick for him. but dropping 2 spots in the 1st and trading our 2nd for shaub would be more like it i think.

I think Atlanta would really love to have CJ but not as bad as they would like to keep Tampa from getting him. Plus CJ is a homer and a ticket seller. That is is 3 pretty big pluses for giving up your 2nd RD pick and Schaub.

I actually love this trade. Levi Brown, Laron Landry, Gaines Adams, Jamaal anderson or Reggie Nelson would be available at 10.
The only problem I see is why wouldnt the Falcons just skip us and trade with the browns. It depends on who the browns think has more value Carr and our 1rst and 2nd or Schaub and the Falcons 1rst and 2nd. |

wow. i'd never have thought of that. So, basicly i'd be like moving 2 spots down, getting LaRon, and using our "2nd Rd" pick on Schaub....sounds good to me! If that would work out...that'd be nuts, but its hard to see happen.
