on another board and Miami is looking to trade with me for David Carr....what player interests you guys the most on this list along with pick #71 for David Carr
"Players I'd be willing to give with a 3rd rounder for David Carr (pick one): RB Ricky Williams TE Randy McMichael WR Marty Booker CB Will Allen DE Kevin Carter DT Keith Traylor QB Joey Harrington RB Sammy Morris DT Jeff Zgonina Just let me know which one you want plus the #71 pick for Carr." The draft is starting after the combine and there is no trading once drafting begins... |

I would ask for Rickey William, a 3rd and a 5th.

Its only a 4 round mock....so the 5th would be useless.

Well, tell him you don't want a player, just his 2nd and 4th rounder.

Will Allen meets our biggest need.
Who are you planning to start if you trade Carr?? Are you assuming that we pick up Plummer or are you starting the Miami reject Rosenfels??

Pettie needs to go back to nickle or FS...Will Allen. If there isn't a day two pick invloved...Texan's aren't going to trade, take a cap hit for nothing...gotta be a pick involved.

Does it matter?
I really don't think it would be hard to find a career backup somewhere who can get us more than about 140 net passing yards per game, an average of 1/2 of a TD per game, and almost 1 interception per game. That's the production that we got from Carr over the last half of the season. The easy part of the season. I think we could definitely get more than that with Sage. I think we could probably get that with Van Pelt, Quinton Porter, or even Owen Daniels, fer cryin out loud. |

What has David done in the last 8 games to make you think he should be the starting QB for the Houston Texans in '07?? What has he done through out the whole year?? Or should we just take your word, that he is our best option at QB, because I'm not seeing anyting to make me believe he is. Do we need a new starting Left Tackle?? sure we do. Even though Ephraim Salaam shut out Dwight Freeney twice, Jason Taylor, & Demarcus Ware, he had problems going against yabooty(the guy from tennessee). A new running back?? Sure do... the guy we had could barely rush for 3.6-3.8 ypc behind a poor offensive line when he was suffering from turf toe, and closer to 5 ypc when he was healed up behind an equally poor playing offensive line. Need help on Defense?? Yes we do....... Faggins, Sanders, Dunta....... none of them seem special to me. CC Brown.... a personal favorite, but Glenn's a better tackler..... Let's try to fix as many areas as we can, while we can, and not all but one, to see how it would look with better talent around it. You don't need to see Ephraim Salaam on a better team to know we need to address that position. You don't need to see Ron Dayne on a better team before you can identify a need for an upgrade. You don't need to see Shantee Orr or Lewis Sanders or CC Brown on a better team before recognize the need to explore other options. We need to explore alternative options at QB.

Now you can use your draft picks on Levi Brown in the first, Drew Stanton in the second, & the best Center you can find in the third. a 4th round DT/DE, a 5th on a LB, a 6th on a LB, and a 7th on corner.

No what he's doing is interjecting tallent into a team that doesn't have tallent on the roster to support it's QB. It'd be one thing....if we did have legitmate starters on the roster on the o-line, if the Texans had by bassed skill guys gone out in the draft and taken the lines first set the young QB up for sucsess, but they didn't do that. They set him up to fail. And you guys after that fact...trying to support your DC hate/VY love by saying see there the stats prove it...David Carr suxs...all that makes you is stupid, not a stinking genious.
There's an old saying in the computor world, garbage in...garbage out...and that is what you're doing with these stats. There is a reason DC is a train wrecked mess. And it ain't DC. You wanna say, we've had a decent o-line and DC should have shown more Like Richard Justice said yeaterday...prove it...who is our all pro canidate on our o-line ? Which one is that ? Just who would that be ? Where are all the first and second round selctions on this o line that they picked over the last five years ? Who are they ? No, what we've had for the first four years, is a bunch of rejects, projects and broke backed old guys with little left in the tanks. And that's just the o-line. Get into the so called head coach and offensive coordinators ? You guys hated DC the momment this organazation drafted him. By passing Vincent just sent some over the cliff. He should of shown more ? good greif. You've mark yourselves out of hand with your posts. You're football ignorant...nothing more. I am sick of it. Just because we're not posting about it doesn't mean we're happy about it. Please take this dog on the porch chasing it's tail BS to the bull pen please...it doesn't belong on these threads. You guys are happy warring over it fine. I ain't swallowing the Jim Jones Kool aide over Vincent with you. You wanna show your south ends fine...just take it where it belongs. ...It doesn't belong in here.

I must say I do enjoy the Draft Forum for its lack of Carr threads.

You're going to jump on me for voicing my opinion when someone else brought up DC? Why don't you jump on KiwiTexanFan for bringing up the QB situation? Or is it only OK to bring up DC in a Draft discussion if I don't bring up an opinion that is apparently different from yours? Is it only OK to bring up stats when they support your opinion? Please. Tell me your rules for posting on this MB. I could use the chuckle. |
