The Texans have signed Kendrick Starling - a very interesting wide receiver from San Jose State. He sounds like he has exceptional talent, but may also have some attitude issues.

It sounds like a wait and see type. I wonder if they ask him to play in NFLE for a year? They sure do have alot of WR's right now.

I think he was a steal. He will be this years, McCariens. He has a good tall frame. He could be a real gem in my book.

Kendrick Starling's draft stock was rising b4 the draft but 4 somereason no team took a chance on him. Now I cannot get my hopes up on the kid being the next Randy Moss LMFAO, but he does have the potential to be a great WR in the NFL. I saw him play ONE game on T.V. I saw 2 maybe 3 catches out of him, the 4th throw was a routine pass that he just DROPPED. Now if he plans on being a texan he has alot of work to do, we all know if you drop routine passes around here you might not be a texan 4 long.
Just to give Keyfro some intertainment LoL

hey what can i say it's funny to me...but sterling could very well be a great find for us...kid has the talent to have been a first day reciever...probably in any other draft he would have been...he had a injury plagued season last year and his attitude issues i believe are towards rehab...well he's gonna have to get over that cause capers won't stand for a guy like that...but he might have given casserly something to believe that he's changed for the better...so best of hopes for the kid...let's see what he can do...and yes here he is again

Ya'll (I can't make myself type you all, sorry) are gonna have to quit putting the banana up there, everytime I see him, I have to get up and do the "Banana"
I have read about his attitude, but I have not seen any examples of his attitude. Just what kind of bad attitude does he have? |

When I saw that we signed another receiver I got really pumped because I always love to watch those new receivers in action! However, after I looked at all his profiles I definately think he was a steal.Just look at those 40 times! Now what are his hands like though?

You know what, and this goes back to when we signed Andre Johnson, the 40 times are great and all, but the biggest asset is catching the football. I don't know why it's so important to be blazingly fast more than catching. Carr's throws are harder than most of these guys have seen and they tend to take things for granted. There were reports about AJ's lack of hands before we drafted him, which I was skeptical in us getting him. But once he got to the Texans they found out that he needed to fix his vision. Hopefully that the problem with his hands. I think his hands or ok right now, but some of these guys with great 40's may not have either the hands to catch the rock or the heart to take a hit.

BIO: Suffered through an injury-plagued season in 2003 and caught only 28/296. Posted 49/603/5 the prior season, his first year at SJSU.
POSITIVES: Competitive pass-catcher with solid size-speed numbers for the next level. Gets off the line with a burst of speed, quick footed and runs sharp routes. Adjust to the errant throw and high-points the ball, pulling the pass from the air. Fast, plays to his 40 time and beats defenders down the field. Stays in bounds running after the catch, elusive and tough to bring down. NEGATIVES: Must improve his ball security. Only limited starting experience. ANALYSIS: A prospect with a world full of potential, Starling is a player that will need time to develop his skills and round out his game. Performed well at the combine then topped it with better showing during individual workouts and heading into the first day. PROJECTION: Early Fourth Round Last edited by STEEL BLUE TEXANS; 05-01-2004 at 07:59 AM. |

K. Starling should be an intriguing prospect. Hopefully, with our teaching he can improve on his weaknesses. With Thomas and Starling in camp, it should be a competitive and interesting camp. IMO, this is probably Bradford's last year.

Hey, nothing should bring a guy down a humility more than getting ignored in the draft, right?
If he IS a jerk, that should bear out quickly...especially because quiet, hard workers like AJ will add to the contrast. |
