this is a pay per view site so I'm only showing a sample (top 10 picks) without team reports (other than Texans) but I would also like to give them a plug for anyone who wants to subscribe to a low cost, constantly updated data base all inclusive draft site. its 25.00 & highly recommended by beerlover-
By Rob Rang Last Updated: 01/30/07 - Mock Updated 1 Oakland *JaMarcus Russell QB LSU 2 Detroit Gaines Adams DE Clemson 3 Cleveland *Adrian Peterson RB Okla 4 Tampa *Jamaal Anderson DE Ark 5 Arizona Joe Thomas OT Wisconsin 6 Washington *Alan Branch DT Michigan 7 Minnesota*Calvin Johnson WR Georgia Tech 8 Houston Levi Brown OT Penn St Charles Spencer looked like he might be the Texans' long-term answer at left tackle early last year. But broken bones in his knee threatened his career, and he'll likely switch to the ride side next season. The Texans must improve their blind-side protection to give QB David Carr a chance to search for more vertical options down field. 9 Miami Brady Quinn QB Notre Dame 10 Atlanta LaRon Landry FS LSU

1.I see oak. taking Johnson over Russell. 2.Adams 3.Peterson 4.Tampa taking Anerson w/ simms and Grats as qb but Russell is a possibility 5.Thomas 6.Branch 7.I can't see Johnson falling this far. Minn reaches and takes Jarrett 8.I had us taking Amobi Okoye. But do like their pick of Brown that wouldn't make me too upset...we need help there bad. 9.Since in my mock Russell may be available they take him but Quinn if not. 10.Reggie Nelson-I see Atl pulling the trigger on the bigger 'playmaker' with more potential....they like 'potential' see VICK. I am surprised they had something so similar...doesnt' make me feel so bad. every other mock has russel thomas...etc...its boring and prob. won't happen. Thanks for postin this.

If Thomas falls to the #5 spot, I wouldn't be too upset if we tried to trade up for him. I guess we need our picks more, but man thats so accessible...

Do you think that Arizona will let us trade picks with them so that we can draft Thomas instead of them??? I think not! If Thomas falls to the Cards you may see the fastest pick in draft history!

I wouldn't be surprised if Thomas is gone to see Arizona pick Levi Brown.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if we gave them something they didn't think they could pass up. Then they just select Levi Brown at 8. Not out of the question but I'd rather see us trade down a few and pick Levi than trade up and grab Thomas. But whatever...I'll be happy if we pick JT,LB,AP,JR,JA,GA,AB,AO,RN,LL,LH,PW. lol

if Quinn is left at the 8 spot, you will hear fans screaming for the Texans to take him

you know I'm big on Levi, but what would it take to make a trade w/Minn.? the Johnsons would be off the chain

Yeah but what can we give them that they couldn't pass up in all honesty??? More draft picks?? That would just be stupid! We have WAYYY too many holes and problems with our ENTIRE football team to go wasting all these picks on 1 player! Now if this was in a year or two and we were more along the lines of the Broncos in overall team talent then sure I would sign up, but not now. If anything WE should trade back a couple of spots and pick up some extra draft picks. I'm hoping that if AP is gone that Quinn falls to us at 8 and the front office does a Giants/San Diego trade and gets us some extra picks to fill the holes in our team!

I think it would be silly to trade up to pick Joe Thomas. He's a great tackle but offensive linemen aren't the surefire bets they once were (Mike Williams, robert gallery). I think Levi Brown has the mean streak that the Texans could really use, and he'll most likely be available at 8.
If AP is available, I say take him, but if not I'd be very happy with Jamaal Anderson or Levi Brown. |

But after tring it their way for six consecutive off seasons, I'd say it's time to try to see if the other way works. I'm certain after five tries the reach/free agent way does not work. Lets spend some high draft capitol on what we have never spent high draft capitol on...a front line OLT. Might work. I believe that is the first link in the chain for our supper bowl run. Whether we put that link in this year or in the future...anyones guess. But one day to make that Super Bowl chain...the're going to have to find that link.

I'm not sure why you refuse to accept our scouting opinions of Levi Brown & use this regurgitated bunk as gospel
if thats your opinion & you have watched enough tape of him to make those conclusions thats fine, even if we don't agree

Just to let you know I have watched a decent amount of tape on him and those are my opinions, just quoted those two things in there to back up my opinion with more "expert" opinion that is out there.

my feeling is his so called lack of a desired meanstreak is being mistaken for playing under control, keeping constant within the game plan & not making foolish penaltys, offsides, holding & such. I could easily see him tactfully exerting more effort as the coaching staff orders that would be easily noticed by pancaking people & drive blocking into the 2nd level. also playing @ Penn State may have been somewhat limiting in that they are primarily a running offense & he not given enough exposure/reps in pass blocking. he has absoultley no weakness in run blocking, hence people are natural to assume he is a RT, not to mention he fits the powerful, massive size to be elite. in pass blocking the only two things I've noticed is he is slow to react at times going to his right, sometimes he brushes pass rusher into or behind the guard sometimes he losses contact & is forced to play catch-up. this is because his area of focus is the outside, where he has enough speed despite his size to slide the rusher past the QB, but will get his pad level up and almost stood-up if the end is exceptionally strong. other than that he does not quit, recovers & keeps in the play until the whistle blows (have never seen him take a late shot at someone either). in a nutshell, Levi Brown plays smart stays within the gameplan, finishes his assingments, shows leadership & is a winner. but thats just my own opinion

I think if Calvin fell to 7, the entire state of Minnesota would have a heart attack and it would rival the Cards picking Thomas for fastest pick in draft history, there is no way they would pass him up.

I'm working on putting those together, haven't gotten a chance to study all of the guys at some positions that I'm wanting to get a look at yet, should get those preliminary lists done before Combine, then make adjustments after Combine and/or pro days.
