He Needs To Become A Bull.....if We Had That Kind Of Three Reciever Threat...johnson...moulds...moss...accompanied By The Newly Shining Owen Daniels..... With A Running Attack Of Adrian Peterson, D Davis, And Dayne As The Workhorse....we'd Bring An Offense That Would Give Defenses H.e.l.l................

Let me give you the average responses you will receive on this.
Randy wants to go to a winning team. Mcnair only wants players with good character. Randy is a cancer in the locker room. Randy isn't the Minnesota Viking Randy anymore. Randy is too old and will cost too much. |

You can have the best ammo on the market, but they ain't worth a hill of beans unless you have the gun to shoot them.

I'd rather take Gonzales from Ohio State in the second round if WR is such a concern.
Althou Randy.....the pot is cheaper in Texas.. maybe we can pay your signing bonus in pounds. ![]() I agree..but we still need a line to give the Qb time to get his feet set.

That's the sort of thinking that got Al Davis' team where it's at right now.
"If we just get (insert hyped up player's name here) then we'd be set!" And I am personally skeptical of the minor player trades (Flanagan, Gado, etc.) because it was "supposed" to be great additions to our o line and running game. And what happened? Flanagan wasn't all that effective...McKinney at the end of the year was handling snaps. Chris Taylor, a guy who wasn't even drafted IIRC, came on in the latter part of the season and is now going into camp with a huge surge of confidence and stability. We didn't even have to trade anything for Dayne, correct? He was cut IIRC. Trades are a gamble unless you do it Portis/Bailey style. Free agency is not the best place to upgrade your team anymore. It used to be, but it's not anymore. The draft is about 90% of the source of success, IMO, for all NFL teams. ESPN.com did an excellent article about the decline of free agency (last offseason) that shows how teams are using it less and less each year. IF we trade David Carr, we're not going to get much more than a 4th round pick. A 4th round pick for a veteran who was a Number 1 overall? Harrington snagged a 6th round pick IIRC when he was traded to Miami. I think it got bumped to a 5th rounder because he met playing time requirements. etc. Free agency trade value is fickle. Perhaps the best trade, as trade value goes, was the Portis/Bailey trade where two star-quality players were involved both ways in the deal. Al Davis wanted IIRC either a round 1 or round 2 (at the worst) for Jerry Porter. Which team took THAT bait? None of them. It was a ridiculous demand on Davis' behalf. Al Davis is living in 1980 when it comes to how he treats free agency. He brought Sapp and Moss onto the team's roster because they did well somewhere else...not realizing that it would probably not translate to his team and the system and players' surrounding those two players. Throw in the Aaron Brooks acquisition, and you have the perfect reason why most teams do the bulk of building through the draft. I'll pass on Moss. And I think a lot of other teams will, too. And the other thing that stands in the way of Moss getting traded is that his ego is too big for his own good--He wants to be "The guy" and I think he's more along the lines of being an Eric Moulds type of WR...a compliment to the real No. 1 WR on a team. You think Randy would handle that very well? Prolly not. What's funny is that Sapp and Moss' love of money, and love of ego, got them into Raider Land...and now they're stuck there--Two of the most recognizable players in the NFL, two of the most energizing players in the NFL, stuck in perpetual irrelevance because of their own lack of intuition. Yeah, the money was good...but was it really WORTH it? It's funny if you ask me. I hope they stay there and eek out the rest of their careers.

I've heard someone with the Texans talk specifically about him.
They say that he runs about the worst routes in the league. That once his physical skills start diminishing, he is going to have trouble getting separation. The Texans offense requires that WRs be where they are supposed to be. FWIW.

Right on. If we are going for age and high cost, we should convince Jerry Rice to come out of retirement.
