Here is an efficiency rating that was devised by Troy Aikman. Pretty interesting. The Texans are 13th in the NFL in terms of offense and dead last on the defensive side of the ball. Rankings at Foxsports.com

Looking at that, and if it is to be believed as a good model, it shows why we were beat by SD and the Vikes. They have shown to be signifigantly more efficiant than we are. However, not sure how the turn over thing inters into the stat side of things. Certainly didn't help us in the first two games.

Over at NFL.com has the Colts and Texans defenses ranked 24 and 25. I like the way he rates each aspect of the D to come up with a ranking rather than focus on total yards. I believe it gives a better understanding of how good, or bad, a team is. Although, neither one of these rankings is "good" they seem to be pretty evenly matched D to D. Here's a link http://www.nfl.com/news/story/7871527
With the Packers, Titans, Cheifs and Vikings D all ranked in the middle 20's I can see the Colts putting up 30+ this week. Then, when I look at our common opponents, The Colts have consistantly outscored the Texans against each and every one. Below I have listed our common opponents followed by the Colts score, then the Texans score: Jaguars 24 - 20 Titans 31 - 20 Chiefs 35 - 24 Vikings 31 - 28 Oakland 35 - 30 The question for you is: Can the Texans score more than 30? What does any of this mean? I don't know, just something to chew on. Hope some of you can make it to the game. Richard Last edited by Twelfth Man; 11-11-2004 at 07:37 AM. |

Well that was a good post, the texans are not really a high scoring offense, but when its a must do situation they have seemed to pull through for us this year ! This game will be won by whoevers D can stop the other team once our twice !

Most importantly, what was each team's record against those teams?
Indy 4-2 Houston 4-1 Pretty even if you ask me. |
