should be an assist to Kubiak/Smith & Smith before FA & the draft, at least I'm sure he's been around enough to share some insight on players & assess their skill sets defensively, great addition to the team

The Cards had a good LB corps, according to some Cards fans I know. I look forward to seeing Bush work with the defense.

Hey Chick, from what I heard from your good buddy John McClain, Richard smith will still be in control of the defense and you are right about him calling the defense. He will be calling the defesive plays from the booth.

I'm a big believer in head coaches hiring the guys that they think they need. Good that he's on board.

By the same token, I'm not a big believer in owners hiring assistants (which seems more widespread lately.)

This might be a great thing (Having Smith in the booth).

He possibly was too heavy on the rah-rah-rah! motivational stuff on the sidelines, and now he gets to be in the booth where he can see the field from above, see what needs to be done, and make the appropriate adjustments and calls down to the sidelines.

Bush can then be the tweaker. He can pull guys aside and teach more fundamentals on the sideline in between possessions, getting them ready.

Having those two guys collaborating is going to be a good thing, IMO.

I like the move.

We finally got a Bush on our team, so get off our back ESPN!!!!

I think this is a great move on many levels.
If Rich Smith's defence starts to decline, I can see Bush taking over...let's hope that doesn't happen.
