I'm sitting here watching the replay of the Outback Bowl. I really like Tony Hunt (6-2 230 4.6). If we miss out on AP I would love for the Texans to draft Tony Hunt. He reminds me of a bigger Frank Gore (49ers running back) or a slower AP. Tony runs hard; you have to really hit him to tackle him. Most of the time one man doesn’t bring him down. He's not the fastest back, but neither is Frank Gore. The only thing I’m not sure of if his vision. I'm not sure if he sees the field as well as FG. In the Outback Bowl Tony rushed for 154 yards, 30 carries, 5.1 yards per carry. Tony would be a steal in the 2nd or 3rd round, if we can't get AP in the first.

I've been saying this for a while. Got the DII guy Race...I've never seen him but he certainly has the numbers. Got the LSU guy Like Dominick. BYU guy Curtis Brown. The Draft is loaded with RBs. All shapes and sizes...all day long.
I agree Hunt is a prospect. He fits the scheme. Why does it have to be All Day or Lynch ?

I don't care for Marshawn Lynch. I watch him against Texas A&M and he did nothing for me, he just got the yards that were there. He reminds me of a smaller Kevin Barlow. Lynch didn't out run anybody, make anybody miss, or run over anybody.

We need a runner in the mold of Earl Campbell. One that would just as well run over you as around you.

I think most fans feel that the missing component in the Texan running game is breakaway speed. Peterson & Lynch can provide that. Doesn't mean they're the only backs in the draft that can, but the first couple that come to mind. Antonio Pittman might leave Ohio State and be available in the 2nd. Alonzo Coleman out of Hampton is a sleeper with reportedly good speed.

We need a Marshawn Lynch more than we need a Adrian Peterson. I wouldn't be upset with either, but Lynch fit's our team better. His vision is amazing you can see it in everygame his head is always swiveling looking for where to go next that's what we need somebody that can find the holes. Our backs have all the tools, but lack the vision. AP has good vision as well, but he's not shifty so he won't make as many people miss and he can't out run or run over people on the next level with the same frequency as he did in college. JJ comparison's are skewed the guy went to the Cardinals and as we saw this yr. not even Edge had a lot of success behind that line and he's a proven back. Lynch is a playmaker and would fit our team better.

Do you have any idea what you are talking about? Vincent produced even as a true freshman for LSU when they won the NC. I'm a HUGE KU fan, so don't start say BS about my team because I will call your arse out and embaress it. And Ball has been very consistent while at MD. None of them are going 1st day, which is why we need to look at them. Your post is funny because you prove that your knowledge of our team and college football is porus and that you open your mouth before your brain has a chance to start thinking.

This is what makes me mad about Titan fans, they want to claim our history without knowing anything about it. Despite playing for Texas, Earl wouldn't be stopped on 4th and 1, he wouldn't be denied and he walks with a cane today to prove it. |

AP has size, strength, and speed. He can run through you or around you. He gets better as the game go on. They don't call him all day for nothing. Marshawn Lynch doesn’t do much for me. Yes, he ran for a lot of yards against Texas A&M, but he didn't do anything special. He doesn’t break tackles, or run away from people. He got the yards that were there. The Texans already have backs like that on their roster. Tony Hunt of Penn. St. is another back I like after watching the Outback Bowl. He runs hard and he has good size. He is not that fast, but neither is Frank Gore of the 49ers. Watch these highlights of Frank Gore. Watch how many tackles he brake and how hard he runs. Also look at how many times he gets caught from behind (speed is not everything). Gore ran for more than 1,500 yards this year. http://youtube.com/watch?v=vmTeZAih6Mc I think AP can be better than Gore because he is bigger and faster. Tony Hunt can be as good as Gore because he’s bigger than Gore. |
