Al Davis is stupid. Vince Lombardi wouldn't be able to turn that team around in one year. No coach can.

Should be interesting to see who Al Davis pulls out of a hole for this one. He is probably searching every Bed and Breakfast in the Bay area for his next head coach.

My guess is that Rob "Plant" Ryan gets promoted from DC.

I think any team would be stupid to pass up offensive coordinator Cam Cameron from San Diego. They need to go after him.

Hmm Chris Palmer is just the guy for the Oakland job! And I know a quarterback thats available that knows the Palmer system by heart! Both would be a GREAT FIT for the Bay Area! And as a bonus, the quarterback grew up around there so to speak....

As dumb as that sounds, I could see it happening. Granted, there's a slim, slim, slim chance of that happening but I don't think it's out of the question.

You know what else is sad? The last time Al Davis actually made himself look smart is when he traded Phillip Buchanon to us..

not if you saw him coach at indiana. he sucked. and former IU players have said as much. i wouldn't hire him. seems like a norv turner kinda guy.

Regardless of Shell's abilities...he had nothing to work with in Oakland as far as OL (picks have underperformed) and QB were concerned.

Al Davis needs to step down, that team will never amount to anything with the way he runs them.

He has had 3 new head coaches in 4 years.

You can't build any kind of consistency when your firing a coach every year and won't allow a new coach to insert his own new system. I realize he's old, but my god give a head coach a chance to bring in his own players. Maybe they should fire the GM, (because 99.9% of all the problems they have are player related)..........oh I forgot........thats Mr. Davis himself.......I guess the silver and black are damned until the poor man passes on.
