According to a recent ranking of NFL quarterbacks by Scouts Inc., David Carr ranks 25th out of 32.
Here is the commentary that accompanies DC's ranking, which I think is spot on: "He had an awful game in a blowout loss to New England, throwing four INTs. He has thrown only one TD pass in his last eight games. He is really pressing, especially when the Texans get behind. He just doesn't make good decisions for a QB with his experience." Among the QB's ranked ahead of Carr are JP Losman, Jay Cutler, VY, Leinert, Alex Smith and on and on. It really is depressing to see those guys ranked ahead of DC (and rightfully so), particularly Leinert--a rookie who has an offensive line worse than the Texans. I like Carr as a person, but I want him gone before next season starts. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2702145 |

I'm surprised he's ranked that high. Honestly, he's probably the worst QB in the league.

They have Harrington in fron of him and Gerrard behind him. IMO, that's off.

Who are the ones behind him? I really dont see no one else having a BADD second half of the season than Carr.

I'd take Campbell over Carr any day and twice on Sunday.

I think that proves how big of a shortage there is of quality NFL qb's. A lot of teams would like DC, if just for backup purposes. If ESPN, NFL Network, etc stop throwing him under the bus, we might could still work a trade. Of course, if he has a good game or two coming up, that wouldn't hurt a trade chance either.

But..... He had been hit hard and had run for his life for his first four years. No one can deny this. What if he had been drafted by the Steelers, sat behind Maddox for one year, then started for them the last four years? Do you all think he would be this bad now? With that line and those receivers? It's something we'll never know. How good he could have been? Do the Carr non-supporters really think he's just bad?

Suprised Campbell isn't ahead of him. But I'd put him ahead of the rest of those guys still which is saying ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

I would put Kitna, Garrard, and Brad Johnson ahead of him...but that is just my opinion. Brad looks like Father Time is catching up with him and Kitna and Garrard are turning the ball over too much but I still feel they get the nod over Carr and his 3 yard and a cloud of dust passing game.

All three rookies are ranked above Carr. Sad.

and they deserve to be so. all 3 rookies have shown more than Carr has in 5 years of play. 1 of them has even turned an 0-5 team into a playoff contender.

the day Aaron Brooks is brought in to replace David Carr is the same day I will cease being a Texans fan.
