The Colts seem to be on a high after besting the Bengals last night. But watching the game, I noticed that the Bengals' defense could get in the backfield pretty quick around the ends of the O-line every now and then. I hope that our defensive coordinator was paying attention to that weakness...

i hope it doesn't happen, but i'm just ready for another texas chainsaw massacre in houston..
i think thetexans CAN open up the colts weak run stop with ron dayne as the heavy duty back, but still not nearly enough to beat indy

Yea, I am scared to death of this game. The Texans just came off the OT loss at home to the Titans and then the blow out in NE. The Colts are coming off of blowing out the Bengals after a tough 4 week stretch in which they lost 3 games and are now trying to build momentum for the playoffs.
I have a feeling this one isn't going to be pretty. |

well i dont think we've ever beaten indy..... houston owns jacksonville, and sometimes gets by tennessee (obviously not this season), but against the colts we just stink it up..
im guessing a 38-7 deficit end of third quarter, david carr lights it up in the 4th with two, yes, count em' two td passes to make the streak a little less embarrasing of 1 TD in last 8 games

The Bengals are not a running team, and they tried to do that yesterday. I'm in no way saying that we are an elite running team, but if we run the ball the way we have the past couple of weeks we can set up some good play action passes.

Sadly, most of the focus on the board is talking about gibberish and no one is really interested in talking about this week's game, I can't believe the first Colts thread that is on page 2. So sad.
Anyways, I think that we will have our hands full with the WR... I am not sure how we plan on playing the WRs, because we haven't been able to get pressure consistently on any QB and really can't stay on any receivers in coverage. I fear another big passing attack day against the D. I think the word is out that the Texans play the run better, so I bet we see a lot of what Peyton did against the Bengals, which is a lot of short passing routes and screen plays. Anyone that watches screen plays knows that we are susceptible to that play. Haven't sniffed it out all year. For the sake of talking about something other than Kubiak and Carr, I'd like to see Mario get Manning once... just to shut up everyone on the message boards from beating the dead horse of Carr. Offensively, I think we will have our best chance yet of beating the Colts. I hate Dayne, but he should have a decent game against the Colts, especially if we can make some big defensive stops early. If we fall behind too quick, then the run game will disappear. I liked the idea of getting Walter and Anderson the ball on offense as they seem to be getting less attention... Wouldn't mind a few plays that are designed to get them the ball. One of the best plays this year was the Walter 1st down run on a 3rd and short play when he motioned and setup in the backfield... great way of confusing the defense... which we havne't done much anymore. With Cook seemingly benched, we have less weapons on offense and need to incorporate a few Wr wrinkles int he offense, which ought to be possible against a week Colts D. I think we play them pretty tight early, then lose it in the 2nd half.... Colts 33 Texans 17.

How many times has it been said run the ball. We have to run the ball well and not get away from it so we keep Payton off the field. Do we win I don't think so but I would like it to be by a small margin I can not stand to go through what I went through last Sunday.
Please Santa all I want for Christmas is not to have another blow out. Sign, Depressed Texan fan |

i think dayne should pound the ball and run the clock down like 6 minutes per drive, and THEN let carr throw his little picks and give peyton the short field

i'm hoping you guys beat them. i want the colts to have a reason to suit up and play miami in the final week.
keys to the game: - run the ball. keep the colts off the field. a lot easier than it sounds, but you HAVE to commit to the run. even if the colts get a good lead, just keep running the ball. run right at freeney, and maybe a stretch play or two to the weakside, too (right at cato june) - send the house at manning. go blitz-crazy. maybe force him to chuck a ball up there where it doesn't belong. - and if you get turnovers, put the dagger in. go for the TD right there. be aggressive when necessary. it won't be easy, but it's possible. i guess. |

Really the key to winning the game, any game is for Carr to be able to hold onto the ball, I cant tell you how sick I am of seeing him drop the football, or throw it to the wrong team, maybe he needs to tested to see if he is color blind. I love David to death which is why it makes me so mad. And every Sunday I have to hear my husband say " see honey I told you we should have taken Vince, your pretty boy is just that, pretty" and every Sunday he gets wacked on the back of the head. I only hope that Carr looks better for the last two games or he will be spending next christmas somewhere else.

I just want us to run run run the ball with Dayne until he collapses on the sideline, then bring in Lundy, Gado or Taylor. I want Carr to have zero yards on zero attempts 8sorry if I mentioned the Carr).
The Colts are weak against the run, let's give then a one-sided performance, stick it to them!

I'd love for Mario to put Peyton on his back hard for once. Nothing that will injure him, maybe knock the wind out of him and make him think about Mario next time we play. We need something positive to build on.

Dayne left, Dayne right, Dayne up the middle. Control the clock and we might have a chance.
