Well, another loss and another oppertunity to bash Carr. What else is new? Anyway, for everybody out there who hates Carr, now what? I mean you guys hate Carr so much have you even thought about what to do after him. Like I said last night, Troy Smith, Brain Brohm, or JaMarcus Russell? I don't say Brady Quinn because he'll be gone before the Texans pick. Anyway, since you guys know so much what do you want the organazation to do. I waiting, come on you genius's, lets here it. Let's here the tired old argument of (in a winey tone) "God why didn't the Texans draft Young, God, why?" Come on lets here the cries of "man the Texans organazation blew it." So since all you guys are successfull GM's lets here it. What will you do? Who will you draft? What free agents will you sign? I mean, you guys know right, you've probably been complaining ever since the Texans had the number one pick. So what will you do?
You know what, I know what you'll do, nothing, you'll do nothing. You and the rest of the hype band wagoners out there, like all those idiots on the Houston radio stations, and ESPN broadcasts, and in all of the weekly football mags. It seems you guys aren't happy unless there's something wrong. It justs happens to be real easy to crack on Carr, because he's the QB. No, no one wants to crush the GM or the scouts, no, no one wants to jump all over McNair. No, why would anyone do that, its so easy to belittle Carr. Okay, so he's playing bad, well, now what? What do you do now? You guys say get rid of him. Okay, then what? Not once have I heard any legit argument on who you'd bring in. All I hear is the crying "Carr sucks, get rid of him, he's the worst, this guy is a disgrace,I can't believe we past on Young, the hometown God." I swear if I'd didn't know better you'd think Young walked on water and turned water into wine. There's nothing, and I mean nothing more annoying than talking about the past. Its boring, its completely boring. It just shows your bias's. I bet for all you Young n*t hangers out there, I bet you guys would still find some fault even if Carr was doing good, not great, but good. Wouldn't you? You'll probably never be happy. Becuase twice every year you guys will be reminded of what might have been. Shut the f*$k up. Its old. |

Wow 8091. I always look forward to reading your long running typing. Always impressive.
But this time, it was little different. The long, long sentences spoke to me this time. I now see the light. You are smarter than us all... (and did I mention you can type?)... what were we thinking? Yes, you correct, we should not be embarrassed about the Texans. We should not look to the past (last week or before) and we should all praise them for the fact that they have a game next week... Thanks for the insight. |

Gsus8081, just signed up and six posts in. You should probably relax little.
You can get rid of Carr and not take a high a draft pick to replace him. Basically, go cheap and find a proven vet to carry the load for a season or two while they build up the interior lines on both sides of the ball. The issue with Carr seems to be that there isn't enough talent around him, that is what McNair says. I don't see how they are going to get enough talent around him by the end of his extension. So why keep him when looking at from that perpsepective? Carr playing for the Texans isn't really the issue, it is the amount of money his paid and his cap hit. Bottom line, just take it easy. Carr isn't going anywhere. |

You know, its not even about Carr anymore, its the complaining, look at the "Bull Pen" today and the past month. I guarantee at least half or more are about the complaints of one guy. One guy, Carr. Its the complaining, it sucks, its time for optmisim or at least focus on other things than one guy. You guys might as well call the message boards "Kill Carr" instead of the "Bull Pen".

One thing you need to learn, G, is that this board does not belong to you and that no matter how much you curse, people are not going to shut up just because you say so.

The biggest difference from last year, is the defense. You want to be optimistic, I think you are putting your head in the sand. Carr doesn't deserve all the blame, but he does deserve a big chunk it. |

I say we keep him. lets let Sage or VanPelt start next year.
if they get killed, then you and all the other Carr Homer's can say I told you so...... and actually have something to back it up. If the guy plays well, and we actually start looking like a football team..... we throw Carr in their after week 8..... then we can watch the OL deteriorate, and not be able to protect their QB. And we'll be able to say see i told you so..... & get rid of Carr. hey if that isn't good enough for you, why don't you & the homers come up with a plan, we can do that..... draft 5 blue chip OLmen on the first day.... I'm game. Let's do it. Give away our entire 07 draft, AJ, Owen, and our current line to Seattle for their OL...... Indy for their OL.... KC.... SD..... who ever, and let that line play in front of Carr..... lets do that too. whatever it takes for you.. & all the intelligence challenged MB'ers to finally realize he's a freak'n bum, and won't make a pimple on an NFL QBs rump. Whatever it takes, how ever long it takes..... let's keep sending David out there, and make excuses for why he can't play this game at a level worthy of the league minimum. Ten years.... I'm game. 20, let's do it.

Paragraphs are your friends good job on the rambling rant of runaway Carr representative !
Alliteration is cool also! To all the Houston Carr fans relax , Big Poppa McNair says Carr will be here and Big Poppa McNair signs the checks! I hope Big Poppa likes his subscription to High Times!

First of all the defense, are you kidding me? Come on, I know you know more football than that. Second, I'm just pissed that thats all the boards are ever about. Its " Carr sucks, Carr sucks." Okay, we get it you hate him, we know you wished the Texans would have picked Young, okay, we get it. But find something else to critique on. Your telling me if Carr was as good as Eli Manning or Phillip Rivers, or Big Ben the Texans would be any better. Thats ludicris. See, with Carr at least that position is filled, the RB spot is vacant, the defense is God awefull, there is no secondary, no o-line, and by the way 1, thats right, ONE WR. Give me a break. Look guys, I'm just as upset as you guys the Texans aren't winning, but I'm trying to look at the brighter side of things. I love the Texans more than you know.

Whoooa seems like a very deap blog page thing here.... hmmm after reading the recap today from Kubiak i do have to say i think he's full of CRAP... he said he had no want to want to bench Carr. After his performance yesterday and weeks before and weeks before i'd have to say if Sage was not hurt he'd of been playing yesterday and probably might have finished out the season with Carr looking for a new town.

You know it's almost a waste of time to post something constructive on here, because it doesn't get any play and it get's shot down as if it were word's from a leper or something. Once in a while you'll find a thread about football talk, but those are usually drowned out by.... well... ignorance. Everyone's all *itching and moaning about Carr's performance, but guess what NE played great yesterday, they had our #. It wasn't just Carr that failed our whole team failed and our coaching failed in not putting our guys in a position to win.
Having vented a little bit I'll tell you what I would do and explain why I would do it.1st) I would keep Carr, there is no way I'm letting him go so he can become successful and I'm left looking like an *****. The guy has what it takes and I would put the best team around him to prove it to everybody. I have plenty of other reasons, but I'll keep this short. 2nd) I would shop A. Johnson. I would shop him to try to get another receiver and a 2nd or third rd. pick. I know I may get heat for this, but the guy drops too many balls. He doesn't adjust to the ball and has to make incredible adjustments to make miracle catches that if he were fundamentally sound would look more avg. Anyway's I'll try not to rant. Like I said I would shop him so I would look for a receiver that A) is comparable in talent straight out B) less talented, but solid fundamentally and with draft picks along with him. If those conditions were met I would pull the trigger if not I would obviously keep him. Also I would do all this behind closed doors, hate to put dissent in the team. 3rd) If Peterson is available I would pick him up. No question in my mind, we've been watching mediocrity in the running game so much this season that we're actually trying to convince ourselves they can get the job done. Not so an upgrade is needed. Also AP would bring back something similar to Luv'yablue. RB from Houston, big time bruiser with the ability to take over the game. 4th) I would draft a tackle no sooner than the 3rd. We have a solid starter in Winston and depending on Spencer a solid LT. I would bring in someone to back them up and push them for their jobs. In the fifth or sixth round I would look for interior help. Only one position though so whichever is the best option that is what I'd do. Coaching also plays a role in our offensive ineptitude so even though I think those moves would greatly improve the offense it would still be on the coach to find a way to utilize them all. So overall If I pulled off all these moves we could be looking at having say Berrian from the Bears and a 4th or 5th rd pick. AP at RB. Youth and depth on the O-line. Hopefully with more time together a more cohesive and fundamentally sound team. Yeah, I know I didn't address the Defense, but this thread didn't ask me about that. Sooo.... thoughts? |

A funny thing about Carr threads:
When he's played well, there aren't so many Carr threads. When he hasn't played up to expectations, there are exponentially more Carr threads. A high QB rating or 22 4 yard completions in a row just doesn't cut it. If you want people to quit bitching about him, then pray to your David Carr altar that he starts winning games.

"Dat Boy Yec," Right on man. Finally someone with answers and something constructive to say. I appreciate it. I feel like I'm the only one who wants to see this team succeed. It seems ever since the draft everybodies been taken shots at Carr and Mario. Like these so called fans want these guys to fail or something, anyway thanks.
