Default Does Carr even care?

He's always so nonchalant, it makes me wonder, does he mind losing anymore?
You can ruin a quarterback in many ways, but one way that is particularly harmful is making him learn to accept losing. Once Carr accepted losing, he never came back. In an interview after beating the Jags for the 1st time, Carr said it was weird because he didn't have to wake up and "pretend to be depressed"

What!? Not to turn this into a "we should have/could have/would have" type thread, but there was a segment about another QB recently on the ESPN pregame report in which Keith bullocks said that VY was inconsolable after losing to the Colts. That he couldn't take losing anymore.

Thats the kind of passion I'd love to have from a QB. Not a "this is my day job, its nothing personal" attitude. Carr may have all the talent in the world, but so does every NFL defensive player and they come with attitude and heart. I don't see that kind of dedication from a lot of members of our team anymore.

And I think its because they've become so used to losing.

no, he doesn't care. As long as he keeps getting paychecks he is fine. After all, he has admitted on multiple occasions that football is not a priority in his life.....and it shows.

Carr after the game...

"This is hard because it’s getting past old for me. I mean, this is just going on -- doing this, coming up and getting beat. The way we got beat today is really frustrating ... even more frustrating because I let myself get out of my game-plan, which was to play a good football game. The defense was playing great, we were running the ball a little bit, but once they got up two or three scores I just got out of my game plan. I tried to make plays that weren’t there and honestly we’re not capable of making yet. I was just trying to do too much."

IMO, Carr doesn't care enough about this team. After Raiders' win when Texans' defense bailed him ; Carr was grateful the defense pulled victory out of the jaws of defeat....he should had apologize for his stinky performance to the fans. After Titans' loss, he says he wants to have fun.

Sorry, I'm tired of listening of your dispassionate responses to the media.

You are history ,man! Wish you the best in your future endeavors.

My dad and I said the same thing today while watching the game. When Carr threw that interception when that guy returned it to about the 5 yard line. Carr just like brushed by him going out of bounds and was kind of surprised the guy touched him. I was so mad at this.

Carr should have showed some sort of disgust and nailed the living crud out of that patriot. I'm sure he saw him step out but the whistle hadn't blown and the ref isn't going to throw a flag. just show some sort of spirit and hit him like carr's been hit all these years. (i am not condoning cheap shots and playing dirty)

That is awesome. David is finally ending the debate for us. He sucks once and for all. If you want to follow this guy into battle, be my freaking guest. He continues to just be a walking cliche...Tiger Woods shows more emotion than this flatliner....his 'aww shucks' attitude makes me want to puke

I'm still in euphoria about Dunta stepping up and saying what the locker room is thinking...Dunta just scored big points with me, many of you, and the locker room....Dunta hasn't had a great last two years but he got big points with me for telling it like it is...now THAT is a Texan by definition...This spin doctoring we have been subjected to is an affront to our intelligence as fans. I could tell Carr is feeling the pressure now too, and not just in fans and media but now his peers. He looked more rattled in the postgame interviews than I have ever seen...must be those Beantown writers rubbing off on our carebear beat writers

Dunta is willing to put his butt on the line by saying what a lot of us real fans have been saying forever. If Dunta is run out of town this offseason I won't be surprised but he will have my respect forever

On the other hand, David's comments continue to be the same stuff week after week and he continues to point fingers elsewhere....plays 'were' not capable of making...no David its 'your' not capable of making....is David the coach all of a sudden?

I read the above quote too and think that Carr is emotionally spent. I think he either knows he is going to be gone at the end of this year, or is already thinking about the off season.

Keep in mind that Carr has a say in all of this too. He may be the one to leave and try his luck elsewhere. I know he just signed a contract, but most of the time NFL contracts are set up so that both parties can get out if they are willing to give up money. Carr certainly has plenty of money at this point.

Mostly I think he is at a loss of what to do. I think he has done everything he feels he can when listening to Kubiak and things aren't getting much, if any, better. I actually do feel a little bad for him because I think he genuinely wants to succeed and is playing as hard as he can.

I don't see too many other players that are much different in their attitude. Most of those that are the ones that haven't been here long and therefore haven't had the spirit beaten out of them. Yet.

I think he has given up because he knows he will be elsewhere next season. He is also tired of the same BS every year. It takes a toll on you losing year after year, and it can't be easy getting beat up week after week on the radio and in the newspaper. I can't even imagine what last week was like for him. I listened to him this morning on 610, and you could tall he is ready to get out of here.

yeah, this morning was not the same David from the previous weeks and years. If the Texans don't ask him to leave I bet he will ask to.

Nice, so the only game-plan DC's given is to play a good football game. It's sort of vague, but I like it. I hope no one else in the NFL knows about the mighty Houston Texans game-plans of playing good football.

He's no Vince Young - that's for sure - VY cares and the "W's" show it. Nice job Boob McNair.

Carr cares about his $8,000,000 and little else...

You guys are duh da duh dumb.

He's been working his butt off, taking hits, trying to win but losing for years.

You all feel the same way he feels, and you don't have to work or take hits. You just have to start whining as soon as the other team takes the lead.

Unlike Dunta Robinson....David Carr has never gone to the media and BLAMED the rest of the team or a player for losing...He has a team mentality and has never thrown his Oline or coach under the bus... he may not be a true leader and ra ra kind of locker room guy....but after 5 years of getting pounded into the ground and hit on every passing play....wouldnt you get kind of fed up and depressed about the situation? And for him to never call out his teamates should earn him a lot more respect than he is given by fans...I am a Carr and I admit that the best thing for both parties....Carr & the Texans is for some sort of trade or release to happen this offseason...maybe once another QB comes in here and takes a beating and struggles, fans will realize the problems werent all Carr's....
