I was watching the Giants/Eagles game and the commentators said, "The only teams that talked with Jeff Garcia during the offseason were the Eagles and the Houston Texans..."
Since taking over for McNabb, Garcia has thrown 7 TD's and no pics. Had you guys heard this before??? About the Texans talking with Garcia? First I've heard of it. I don't think that Garcia is great, by any means...just wanted to see what you guys thought.

Well, when an opportunity comes by the Texans, they brush it off and say, "Nah, we'll stay with our utterly pathetic QB, David 0 TDs, 4 INTs today (12/17) Carr."

I had not heard that before, but I'm sure they talked to a lot of FA QB's to be a back-up to Carr.
Garcia would have looked great in a Texans uniform today.

i dont think garcia would fit our system. Hes great in the west coast offense but when he was in Cleveland he was horrible

We run something similar to a west coast offense. That said, no QB is going to put up good numbers with us until we can pass protect.

Eagles or Texans? That's an easy choice for Garcia to make.

By no means do I have an illusion that our pass pro is stellar, but it is at least average...you just can't see that David sucks!

He wasn't saying that Carr hasn't sucked, he just meant that with the bad O-line play, what QB can succeed in this offense?

That would be any quarterback who has a reasonable level of pocket presence at the NFL level. Garcia may have talked to the Texans but I very much believe that he isn't a Texan because he'd have taken David Carr's job in about thirty seconds. Garcia is Joe Montana when compared to David Carr. Today during the game I played a little game of my own. It's called "Count how many seconds it takes for the defense to pressure David Carr" What you do is you start counting when the ball is snapped and you stop when he either gets rid of it or gets pressured/sacked/fumbles or all of them in that order. Then you do the same thing for the opposing QB. Brady throws the ball faster on average than the Patriots defense gets to Carr. David Carr doesn't sense the pressure coming when he can't see it and he holds on to the ball too long. David Carr stares down his target like he's trying to bore a hole through him with x-ray vision. Carr has a very average line. They aren't the worst in the NFL. You could stick him behind all but the very best of NFL lines and he'd look like a tackling dummy. He's Rob Johnson all over again.

I saw one sack really, where it was ALL o-line today...

Make that two. Twice they got in the backfield untouched. That is just pathetic playing. If you lose in the trenches, you will lose the game.
