2005 NFL draft trade - Houston Texans Message Board & Forum

I am a Saints fan. I was just wondering what you thought of the decision in the 2005 draft moving down from #13 to #16 and acquiring our 3rd round pick in the 2006 draft. The fact that we finished with the second worst record worked well for Houston giving you the 66th pick of the 2006 draft. Would you rather have Travis Johnson and Eric Winston or the 13th pick in 2005 where you could have selected Jammal Brown, Derrick Johnson, Thomas Davis? Jammal Brown has done exceedingly well in his first 2 seasons in the NFL. Your thoughts?

I for one like TJ + Winston/Spencer (whoever we selected with that pick). We got our tackle and a decent prospect at DT.

In hindsight, however, I didn't know Jamaal Brown was going to be as good as he is. I think you guys got a good deal too
