Baltimore's Thomas most versatile defender in NFL

Last November, when the Ravens and Bengals met in Baltimore, Cincinnati wideout Chad Johnson jogged out from the huddle, the only receiver split right in the formation. Johnson has seen a lot of strange sights on football fields, but none stranger than this. Walking up to cover him: 6-foot-3, 270-pound defensive lineman Adalius Thomas. Not in double-coverage. Yes, there was a safety 12 yards behind Thomas, shading the center of the field. But make no mistake about it: Thomas, squatting there in bump position like Deion Sanders, was going to cover a Pro Bowl wide receiver.

"What the hell's your fat ass doing out here?" Johnson asked.

He is awesome.

He has lined up at every defensive position on the field this year except for FS.

I want him.

He lined up at CB when he was covering Chad Johnson.

I remember when he was the Ravens special teams gunner in 2003 and made the pro bowl.

I would love to have him on the Texans. He may be 30 by the time next season starts but he has very little wear and tear on his body, and barring injury, should continue playing at a high level for another 4 years.

The Texans could use his winning attitude and versatility on D. Especially this year with all of our injuries, I could've seen him taking over at DT and CB/FS a couple times this year...

I am not going to lie, anyone who can shut down the run game at DT with good sucess, rush the passer at DE with 8 sacks thus far, play any of the LB positions better than any of our LB's, line up at CB and neutralize CJ and Gates, and line up at FS and destroy WR's is the best player in the NFL.

I'm going to a Bal home game at the end of Dec. They are playing the Bills so GO RAVENS! I might have to get a Ravens jersey for that game. lol
