I love this quote from ProFootballWeekly.com:
[snip] Texans DE Mario Williams squared off with Jets OLT D’Brickashaw Ferguson — two top-five picks last year — and did not record a sack, but he continually ragdolled Ferguson and worked his way into the backfield, leaving Chad Pennington on the ground for an extended stay one time after hitting him hard and landing on top of him. [snip] The fact that he was able to do it with his foot condition speaks volumes about his size and talent. Just imagine what he'll be able to do with more experience and full health. Go Mario! http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW...ocki112706.htm |

The sacks will come, I'm not worried about that at all. Mario is going to be a force in this league for years to come.

He's already proven to be a better pick than Bush. Mario is the real deal. Once we get corners that can cover for more than 3 seconds sacks will come in bunches.

Only the media will judge him based on his sack totals. Texans fans who get to watch games and the coaching staff measure him on a different, more meaningful scale. He's measuring up well right now.

I am not sure it will be only the media I think certain people are blind when it comes to non-stat info. Why would some all of a sudden look at the whole picture versus just a small fraction of it. |

diagree completely with that statement. Freeney might not make the pro-bowl this year, but everyone knows how good he is. Plus, like many other people said, the sacks will come if he keeps tossing people around like that.

If we did it all over again, i'd still pick Mario over Bush....Bush is not doing anything...Seems all the Rookies have passed him up...

Mario is having a strange season because when he nearly gets a sack the hard way, it never comes. However, he has stumbled into 2-3 gimme sacks this year.

Heh...I disagree with your statement here, myself. I think people know Freeney is such a force because of his previous sack totals. I think that once an end produces sacks "like he should" then the media will focus on his other qualities. |

Addai had a great game. Ryand and Colston have played consistently all season in my opinion.
