Default Two rounds with YoungTexanFan

This is my hope right now for the first two rounds.

In the first, I want us to take Gaither. He is 6'9 350 and runs a 4.8 and has shut down the likes of Kamerion Wimbley, Ernie Sims, Mario Williams, Manny Lawson, Mathias Kiwanuka, James Anderson and more. He didn't give up a sack to a single one of these STUDS. These are mostly first round picks here and Gaither absolutely shut them down. He threw them around and pancaked them all. The even scarier thing than his freakish size/speed ratio is that he has dominated with out great technique. He is still very raw and dominated many first round NFL d-linemen already. Imagine Sherman coaching him. I say to hell with anything else, lets fix this 5+ year hole right now. He's better than Joe Thomas and D'brick. Below is some literature in the form of a MB similar to ours.

http://www.footballsfuture.com/phpBB...er=asc&start=0

Second Round:

Antonie Cason or Brandon Merriwether

Say what you want about either of these guys, but they are players. Cason is a physical freak coming back from injury. Think of that CB from FSU last year but Cason is better. Merriwether is a very good FS value in the second round and the 2nd best FS in the draft behind Landry. Character issues will drop him out of the first IMO, and that may turn Kubes off, but I consider his role in the brawl to be an isolated inscident where he was defending his family. I do not consider shooting a gun he had a permit for, in order to preserve his life and those of his teammate and g/f, to be of any character concern. Both of these men are outstanding prospects who are first round talents based on what happens on the field. Both have an excellent chance of slipping due to various reasons, and both will be steals if that happens. I really see Merriwether as being very close to Ed Reed. Say what you will about that, but he is a dang good football player. Cason is raw, but a freak who has a nack for the ball. Top 20 talent IMO and could be an instant boost to our secondary. Great size and top notch speed. Smooth hips and quick neck. I'll take either of these two prospects in the second round.

Congrats, you have survived "Two Rounds with YoungTexanFan"

Merriweather has dropped on almost every list I have seen that is current. He does not like to tackle, and he is on the small side. Not a good combination for a FS. Yes he is fast, but he is looking like another DB from Miami that we just cut for not being a willing tackler.

This is the list of Senior Safeties from DraftDaddy.com. Not the last word by any means but just one source that does stay semi current, this was updated last week.

Top 10
Rank Name School
1. Michael Griffin Texas (CB)
2. LaRon Landry Louisiana State
3. John Wendling Wyoming
4. Aaron Rouse Virginia Tech
5. Sabby Piscitelli Oregon State
6. David Overstreet Missouri
7. Willis Barringer Michigan
8. Brandon Meriweather Miami (Florida)
9. Michael Johnson Arizona
10. Zach Catanese Arizona State

on the cusp
Rank Name School
- Marvin White Texas Christian
- Will Myers Indiana
- Marcus Paschal Iowa
- Brandon Sharp Louisville
- Andrew Shanle Nebraska

I regard DraftDaddy as one of the poorest sites to obtain info of any kind from. I consider that site a joke and take nothing from them seriously.

But back on topic: Merriwether is not scared to hit, and I don't know who is feeding you that dribble, but he is a man who hits hard. He makes plays on the ball and has good speed. I actually see Merriwether as being a very good tackler and very good pro prospect. Closest thing we will see to Ed Reed until Philips declares.

I am sorry the only thing I have seen Merriweather hit is the guy laying on the ground during the brawl. The only thing he has in common with Ed Reed is they both went to Miami. The newspapers out of Miami are talking about the NFL scouts wanting to make Merriweather a CB because he is considered to frail to stay in the middle of an NFL field. Sorry you disagree.

Quick question: why would Cason declare and not go in the 1st round? He's possibly the best CB in the draft, doubt he'd slip. Also, Gaither is a sophmore, doubt he declares.

You're absolutely correct about Gaither. He will be the top LT going in the draft if he decides to come out. He is genuinely Franchise LT in every sense.
He is better then both Joe Thomas and Ferguson who went to Jets last year as a 4th pick.

But is he coming out this year????

For Texans, Merriwether is too much of a gamble right now and he has too much Character Issues for Texans to even consider him.

Other thing with Texans is that they lack talent everywhere and they simply can't afford to waste their draft picks like this. Just imagine we wasted two high draft picks on a CB who we just dumped this year. But he didn't have character issue.

Not Bad at all, he looks very promising!

Am I missing something about the brawl? I thought it was the one on the field w/ like Florida international where he went Albert Haynswerth all over that guy. As far as a gun I have not heard anything (I'm assuming this is an off field incident and not like the last boyscout lol)? I guess he still puts himself in the situation to have his family and g/f in danger? I don't know anything about this so maybe I am being biased and unfail to him.

Of course it seems Maurice Clarett was protecting himself when he got busted with all those assault rifles.

I say let the Cincy Bengals draft Merriweather, he'll be another great player that gets in trouble.

I also mentioned Cason as a second round choice for us, it doesn't have to be merriwether.

It's 50/50 if he comes out. IMO he needs a little more time to polish his technique. The thing is this: where should he polish his technique? With NFL coaches or Maryland coaches. He's good enough to walk in on day one and start over anyone on our roster, but I really think Sherman could make him an elite LT very quickly.

Gaither is 3 years removed from HS.

Cason is not projected by anyone really as a 1st rounder right now because of his injury. He has all the physical tools you want, and I think he might slip. IF he slips, I take him. I don't care if Landry, Hall, or Reggie Bush is available. We should take Cason in this case.

Also LORK, I've seen you around on that other MB. Same name. I'm under my same name as well.
