Colts game could be blacked out in Jacksonville. You think a 3-0 start would help sell tickets but it hasnt...

Have heard a lot of grumbling from Jag fans complaining about the continual blackouts. Their stadium is almost as large as Reliant stadium, but the population in that area is nowhere near as large to give the needed support.

Actually,
The Jags owner, good ol' what's-his-nuts, bought up the remaining tickets ala mattress mac, and gave them away to hurricane volunteer workers. So the game will be televised in Jacksonville this sunday. On the "I Care" scale of 1 - 10 I would rate that about a 2, but it's nice to see stuff like that nowdays. |

With about the same size stadium as Jacksonville, Harris County (Houston) has around 4 ½ MILLION people... not to mention surrounding counties. That's a big difference. |

Meanwhile the Texans drew thier second biggest crowd ever with over 70,700 at the same exact time the Astros drew over 43,000 for thier season finale.

And the same thing could happen this Sunday. Astros Game 4 is set for Sunday at Minute Maid Park. I just hope it's a night game.

I think they have great fans but they are a very small market city to support a team. That is the only concern.

With that said, I don't judge a team's fans on how many games they sell out. Some of the best fans in the NFL are the ones who can't afford a ticket. |
