Default Jags continue to have problems selling tickets

Colts game could be blacked out in Jacksonville. You think a 3-0 start would help sell tickets but it hasnt...
Quote:
Even though they're off to an impressive 3-0 start, the Jacksonville Jaguars continue to have trouble selling tickets. Sunday's AFC South battle against the Colts at ALLTEL Stadium is in jeopardy of being blacked out in the Jacksonville area because the club still hasn't sold about 4,000 of the 59,000 nonpremium seats. The league yesterday granted the Jags a 24-hour extension. The Jags' first home game against Denver was blacked out.

Have heard a lot of grumbling from Jag fans complaining about the continual blackouts. Their stadium is almost as large as Reliant stadium, but the population in that area is nowhere near as large to give the needed support.

Actually,

The Jags owner, good ol' what's-his-nuts, bought up the remaining tickets ala mattress mac, and gave them away to hurricane volunteer workers. So the game will be televised in Jacksonville this sunday.

On the "I Care" scale of 1 - 10 I would rate that about a 2, but it's nice to see stuff like that nowdays.

attell stadium 73,000 capacity

I could only explain the current lack of support due to hurricane beaten people, or ****ty fans

there is 3 florida teams, all pretty close to each other....

Maybe they should try the madden trick to increase attendence.

That's not a large population base really. But, yes, Florida does have the three pro teams to divide their attention.
With about the same size stadium as Jacksonville, Harris County (Houston) has around 4 MILLION people... not to mention surrounding counties. That's a big difference.

Yeah, the Jags need 10% of the city's population at the game to sell out....

Meanwhile the Texans drew thier second biggest crowd ever with over 70,700 at the same exact time the Astros drew over 43,000 for thier season finale.

And the same thing could happen this Sunday. Astros Game 4 is set for Sunday at Minute Maid Park. I just hope it's a night game.

I think they have great fans but they are a very small market city to support a team. That is the only concern.

Just guessing.

Jacksonville have great fans.
I would agree if this was the first season they had this problem.

With that said, I don't judge a team's fans on how many games they sell out. Some of the best fans in the NFL are the ones who can't afford a ticket.
