Injury update - QB1, Peek, TJ, Wiegert, Sanders

The Texans persevered through injuries to quarterback David Carr (bruised shoulder), right tackle Zach Wiegert (torn knee ligament), defensive tackle Travis Johnson (possible torn calf muscle), defensive end Antwan Peek (sprained knee ligament) and cornerback Lewis Sanders (broken hand).

The Rams lost Orlando Pace, the Giants lost Luke Petitgout, and the Texans lost Zach Wiegert to season ending injuries. Good thing the Texans already have Bedell; there may be a run on tackles this week.

Not exactly the list that I wanted to see this morning. I heard on 610am that Sanders broke his hand and do not remember the play that he did that on.

Wow, we really don't have depth (anywhere), but those injuries are all at positions that at different times this year where the quality of what's starting has been questioned much less what's behind him. Looking to see how we handle this run of injury in terms of schemes and performance.

I'm hoping that the injury to Sanders doesn't force McCleon back on to the field more. Perhaps we'll get to see more of Dexter Wynn as the nickle or dime back.

They've got to pick up another OT this week because I can't imagine that Kubiak will feel comfortable going into the game against Buffalo with three tackles counting Beddell.

I don't know what tackles are available. IIRC, the Texans looked at former Bronco Dwayne Carswell a few weeks ago. I though Jacksonville may have released a decent OT at the start of the season too, but I can't remember anything more about it.

What a time for Seth Wand to have missed out on in signing with the Tacks. He's still with them, no?

IIRC the coaches were grooming Winston for the RT ... will this be his shot?

McCleon isnt bad. Just dont let him cover deep routes.

If we have to have him on the field then we will have to run a zone coverage cuz the opposing offense will have the WR lined up on him run 9 routes all day.

He can cover the short stuff well, but we would be fools to let him go deep 1-on-1 with somebody.

we will never know!!! There had to be one and serous enough to get him booted of he team after starting all 4 preseason games.

Players can miss a significant amount of time with plantar fasciitis. Williams has been trying to practice and play through the pain, but it's starting to hinder his performance.

"As a defensive lineman, I count on my feet," Williams said. "(It impacts) everything I do, like pushing off, changing directions, turning a corner. To have one foot, you can think about what it is like."

Williams will be monitored closely in the upcoming weeks. Regardless of his status, the Texans likely will have to scour the waiver wire for defensive linemen.

Defensive end Antwan Peek is expected to miss time with a sprained medial collateral ligament, and defensive tackle Lional Dalton is already on the inactive list with a twisted ankle.

Among others injured: outside linebacker Shantee Orr (ankle), safety Glenn Earl (dislocated middle finger), safety Jason Simmons (quadriceps contusion) and cornerback Lewis Sanders (broken hand).

Man alive, our team is banged up something terrible. Hopefully some of the lesser injured can recover quickly and get healthy.

Anyone know if Carr is going to miss any time or if he will be ready for this week's game?

According to his post-game quotes, he said he felt perfectly fine. Just got shook up pretty bad by that hit on his shoulder. He is one tough SOB.

This whole situation sucks. Looks like the defensive and offensive lines are both going to be starting some fresh players for the Bills. Let's hope it works out.

Also, I saw Maddox down on one play. What's the word on him?

If the Texans don't make a roster move or consider Pitts at tackle we are in a world of hurt if Salaam goes down. It is iffy enough with Salaam and Winston as it stands.
