Cool Longest NFL TD ever (tied)!

I just watched it, it was awesome. The Giants looked like Rutgers after they blocked an extra point.

Feely missed a FG, Devin Hester caught it in the endzone (NO idea why he was back there). Stood there for a second, look casual, then busted out a 108 yard TD run (with some GREAT blocking).

The only flag was a personal foul on NYG.

108 yards, longest ties longest TD EVER (a fellow Bear has the other share of the record).

It is common for a team to have somone in the endzone on very far kicks for just the reason you saw. I saw the bears pull the same play last yr when Vasher did it against SF.

But yeah, it is exciting to watch!

The previous record was set by the Bears' Nathan Vasher last year under the same circumstances.

I think Chris McAllister of the Ravens did it a few seasons ago also, except I think may have ONLY been 107 yards.

The "ho-hum" reaction to fielding the short kick is what makes this one a classic. He just caught it, non-chalantly started walking to his right and then turned the jets on!

hester with 3 returns for TD's this year, and yet their combined coverage will be far less than reggie bush's TD against the bucs.

just saw that. hey it was a smart play to put him there if he is trying to kick a 52 yd'er. i like how he stalled for a bit, and then took off, point out a block, and he pretty much went untouched. i was like "OMG!"

by far one of my favorite plays...i love the commendatory during that...he was like "and that will end the half (or quarter...w/e)" then all of a sudden the camera moves fast to the sideline and McAllister is taking it down to the endzone and the commendatory is at a loss for words

You think Devin Hester and Jerome Mathis are challenging the unwritten rule of not drafting special teamers?

Interesting that the Giants thought he wasn't going to run that out. If he wasn't going to run the ball out of the endzone he wouldn't have fielded the ball in the first place. The reason being is that if he lets it go, the Bears get the ball at the 40 something yardline. If he takes a knee in the endzone the Bears only get the ball at the 20. He did take a big risk in fielding the ball. The Giants just weren't playing heads up on that play considering they were walking off the field.

True the Giants were not playing heads up but on a field goal you have all the big uglies there to block for a kick you have no gunners like a normal punt or kickoff.

It is not there fault they weigh 300 pounds and can't chase a guy down.

If I remember correctly, the one that Vasher returned last year wasn't even THAT long of a field goal try, but the wind at Soldier Field was just absolutely wicked that day. I recall seeing the ball being kicked, looking like a pretty good kick (straight, good distance), and then someone just yanked a string and it came down and the right where Vasher was standing under it in the back of the end zone. Some of the most ridiculous action I've seen the wind put on a ball.
